BACK TO THE DARKNESS | Dark Ambient Exploration: 7 | Wavestate | Minilogue XD | Volca Drum | Ventris

This performance is a return back into the realm of dark ambient; and an enjoyable return it was...
The Korg Wavestate wave sequence built upon the existing sequence that I used in 'Dark Ambient Exploration: 5'. I made layer 2's sequence step length from 16 up to 64. I added a larger variety of various sample types across the steps, and set it to a random playback, with more varied probability settings for when they each play.
All Wavestate effects are onboard.
The Minilogue XD is playing a 3 x Triangle wave lead (2 VCOs & 1 Multi Engine) with onboard overdrive, delay and reverb.
Later I change the XD sound to one of my own presets, and add some glide to the note changes.
The Volca Drum is a recent purchase and rather than program some drums/beats, I wanted to use it as an ambient noise machine, or at least for now. I built 5 industrial/gritty sounds on it and set them to low probability playback settings on a sparsely populated onboard sequence. This created occasional complementing sounds to the soundscape.
I ran the Volca through the Ventris reverb pedal on a custom LoFi algorithm, with a high reverb distortion level.
I apologise for the auto focus camera movements at the start of the video, they are a little distracting but as yet haven't found a way in post production, to rectify it. This was recorded on my old iPhone 8, and it usually doesn't have this issue.

I’m continuing to push the growth of my channel, and I'm making dark ambient content which is in its own playlist; and also making mellow ambient content for the more relaxed and lighter journeys, within its own playlist as well.
We may approach other crossroads of musical directional options later along the way, which I can explore at that point… But for now, its in and out of the darkness and the light 😊

Absolutely brilliant dark atmospheric shit (good shit!) yet again bro! Some sweet ass low grouls in there which you have the discipline to not push too far and keep within the overall vibe which, in turn creates an individual character for each one of your uploads and this one carries it on perfectly. Just getting towards the end now sat in the studio with the mood lighting notch set at: Dine with the Devil! 👹🤣

Yeah it's so tempting to keep playing those low growls or other parts that stand out.. but like you know less is often more and I'm getting better at not saturating it all and end up with mud... haha... I'm really pleased you like it bro 🙂 Haha 'Dine with the devil'.... oww An idea... we set up a dining table up in Fez's man cave and have the full knives and forks and plates setup... and have a dark ambient performance in there while two people sit calmly and silently eating. Then they both look at the camera!

This is a bit creepy, listening with headphones and some of the sounds sound like they are coming from outside them. This is the best Dark Ambient I have experienced. (is that a toy car at the side of the volca?)

What a great complement that is too🙏🏻 … yes it’s a toy car from the late 1970’s, that particular one actually belongs to my older brother and he used ti play with it as a 3 or 4 year old… still had his initials on it (underneath)…
