Back to the Future is an American science fiction adventure comedy film series written and directed by Robert Zemeckis, produced by Bob Gale and Neil Canton for Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, and distributed by Universal Pictures. The franchise follows the adventures of a high school student, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), an eccentric scientist, Doctor Emmett L. Brown (Christopher Lloyd), as they use a DeLorean time machine to time travel to different periods in the history of Hill Valley, California.

Many fans thought a fourth "Back to the Future" movie could be in the works when one of the lead actors in the originals, Christopher Lloyd who played Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, posted references to the movies on social media. Michael J. Fox posted on Instagram the day after saying, "Doc and I are up to something heavy…"
It turned out they were teasing a Back to the Future themed store. When one fan replied to his tweet saying. "Please please don't say you're remaking BTTF," Lloyd wrote, "We are not."
Fans have always wondered about why there wouldn’t be another installment when every other beloved franchises seems to keep going back to the well. In a interview co-writer of the series Bob Gale explained why the fourth movie would never happen: They had already told a complete story with the original trilogy.
Michael J. Fox is obviously a big part of it. But, you could just recast it right? There was that Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. deep fake people seemed to like.
But the point stands. The film will always be compared to the original and never live on its own. That’s just a fact. As a result, it’ll always be considered inferior or, hypothetical though unlikely, will lessen the legacy of the original.
There are so few franchises or characters that haven’t been watered down in the past 30 years that it’s refreshing to have a franchise like Back to the Future which can just remain those three beloved movies. Plus, if you really want more Back to the Future, it’s out there. There are comic books, video games, even a freaking Broadway musical. Plenty of other ways the story has been continued without a movie. Those things feel like the best of both worlds-more of that thing you love without actually affecting the original.
A short movie was released titled Doc Brown Saves the World, officially created by Universal Studios and starring Christopher Lloyd, reprising his role of Dr. Emmett Brown and set entirely in his secret lab outside Hill Valley. The short movie takes place thirty years after the trilogy. Doc Brown Saves the World is the only official movie sequel to the trilogy that has ever been created.

It was so epic watching the movies as they came out. Remember watching part 1 & 2 on VHS that we hired from the video library, then rushing to the cimema to watch part 3 as it had just come out. Wish I could go back to those days. We really didn't appreciate how good life was back then.

I was 5 Years Old when the 1st 1 dropped and I still remember going to movies with all My cousins to watch this on a Saturday, I can remember sitting in the seat and looking up at the screen Back To The Future is a part of Me and My childhood Along with Goonies Top Gun I’ll always Love those masterpieces and be able to watch & enjoy them for ever There’s nothing can step to what they caught at that time The EFX were not just CGI There was real magic being made on & with Film in those days Making Films was progressing and We were right in that perfect spot that You can not duplicate nor go back to. 80’s & 90’s What a time What a time for Sports , Music & Movies For Classic Films though , The 80’s can not be matched ever again There’s obviously been other classics & masterpieces made since But the magic caught with Goonies , Breakfast Club They can only try to be duplicated now. I would appreciate every minute I could get of these 2 incredible actors furthering the story that we all love! When we watched the first movie, I'm sure a lot of us wished it was just 5 minutes or 10 minutes longer. We didn't want it to stop. This is our chance to see more! No, just no. With todays modern Hollywood could you image the train wreck a 4th movie would be? The originals were made in a time when movies were made with passion. If this was made today it would just be passing down the mantle to a new female lead with a minority friend. That's all these studios care about these days.

I think I've seen each of the films in the trilogy at least 50 times and even now I sometimes watch a return to the future because for me this trilogy is a total success. To know that there may be a sequel!! Great !!! Gorgeous !! Especially seeing Michael J. Fox again despite his illness makes me want to see a sequel that will surely be excellent. But to also see Christopher Lloyde again with his 84 years is magic!! In short, I can't wait to learn very soon that the 4 has been done and that it will be released in theaters 🙏🙏🙏

Really? To me it doesn't feel like Back to the Future at all. Looks and feels very sequal hollywood. Lots of CGI, Serious Music, Way to dramatic. It isn't the original spirit of the old movies. When I think of BTF, I think of Power of Love by Huey Lewis, that quirky cool guys feel, I hear Johnny B. Good and I think of That scene where Marty is on stage playing guitar, which is a really fantasy a lot of people have. Then I think of campy characters like Biff and his goons. This trailer to me just feels like a movie trying to be something it's not.

Sorry, I just don't trust Hollywood to reboot this and make it good. They are too caught up in making everything for a modern audience and less worried about making a timeless story. They also can't help insert today's politics in everything they do, and people just want to escape from that. I hope they never remake/reboot these movies. People just have to learn to let stuff go. Hollywood needs to do original movies, not subvert classics to cash in on nostalgia money.

Hola un saludo desde Argentina. Los que vivimos esa decada del 80 esta trilogia del tiempo fue espectacular. Hopefully someone will catch the ball on this one. This is without a doubt the greatest trilogy ever. I remember getting the Blu-ray edition as a Christmas present years ago. At that time, it wasn't available in Denmark, so my mom had to buy it online. The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and other trilogies are good, but when all is said and done, BTTF is still the greatest.

Hollywood dropping the ball. Back to the future 4 would blow away top gun maverick. To see Michael j fox and Christopher Lloyd ONE more time on the big screen would be amazing. We saw the past and future. 4 could have multiple time jumps to past and future and show what happened to our 2 main characters. To say it’s perfect and shouldn’t be touched is crazy the original is 40 years old. What happened to giving fans what they want? But we’ll probably just get more marvel movies. This would be something special everyone involved for one more huge adventure!! Please please give us this!!!

This has a Breaking Bad feel with Marty being a teacher, I love it. Back to the Future is arguably the best movie of all time IMO, so I don't want to see it tarnished with unnecessary sequels and reboots and spinoffs and insert more and more and more...but IF they ever did something more with the franchise I would hope it would have this level of consideration for the original trilogy.

The CGI and unreal robots doesn't work. We don't have it for a reason. Robots are already jetplanes. And they don't let you sink it in since then the motion blur will stop working for the CGI

This would be a great idea. Notice how they are bringing the Ghost Busters back. These movies are not for the kids its for the late 40 early 50 year olds. We miss these movies, bring the actors back before we lose them. We need a Quigley Down under "20 years later" movie.
