One of the best films ever made! 1) The script is often cited as "the perfect script" and has been used in screenwriting classes. Everything scene and line of dialogue is setup and payoff. 2) Tom Wilson, who played Biff the bully, is the nicest guy in real-life, a devout catholic. When they were filming the "car scene" he apologized to Lea Thompson (who played Lorraine) every take they did. She was so sweet and told him everything was just fine and that they were only acting.

The song Johnny B. Good is a classic by Chuck Berry. The guy in the film is Marvin Berry who calls his uncle Chuck and that's how Chuck gets the song. So many little details that your generation misses.

I like how Chuck three years later writes parts of the arrangement and lyrics that he couldn’t have heard in the phone call. I know that was just meant to be a joke in that scene but that makes it even funnier to me to imagine he somehow already had the lyrics dormant in his mind til Marvin called him🤪(someone looked it up and found out that on the night of Nov. 12,1955 Chuck Berry received an award for best new R&B artist{the word Rock And Roll as a genre didnt yet exist})

1. Cranky principal Strickland/James Tolkan also played the ship's squadron leader in "Top Gun". 2. The teacher that tells Marty, "I'm afraid you're just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis himself. (Heart of rock and roll) 3. Eric Stoltz was first cast as Marty, but he didn't play well with others and was fired. Some of his long shots are still in the movie. 4. The flammable material set on fire with the model exercise had to have been put there on purpose. Movie magic. 5. It's always fun to see how people react to the Marty and his mom car scene. 🤣 6. George McFly/Crispin Glover didn't like that the story ended with the family being prosperous. 7. IMVHO part II is the best of the trifecta. 8. You may notice "Twin Pines Mall" becomes "Lone Pine Mall" after Marty takes one out when he goes ack to 1955.

This is one of the best trilogies of all time. Except for the fact that in zero circumstances does it ever explain how the hell Doc and Marty even know each other.
@PorterJustPorter
@PorterJustPorter 5 ай бұрын
It's actually explained in the novelization. Marty met Emmett "Doc" Brown when he was around 14 after hearing that Brown was a dangerous lunatic. Marty wanted to go and see what it was all about for himself. He snuck into Doc's lab and was fascinated by all his inventions. When Doc caught him, he was glad to have someone interested in his work, and their friendship began.

As you've now seen in this movie, you go back to the future when you've traveled to the past and want to go home. (I suppose the movie could have been called "Back to the Present." But then. it was made in 1985 and now it's 2024, so...oh, well...) I first saw this film in a movie theater when it was new and I was 29 and the actors playing Marty and Doc were each in a TV sitcom (Fox as a conservative Republican kid living with his 2 sisters and their liberal, ex-hippie parents in "Family Ties" and Lloyd as a nutty, eccentric driver, one of a group of characters driving for a cab firm, in "Taxi.") For me, the 80s era is nice nostalgia (I even remember the cars, etc., from the 50s era, when I was a young kid in the early 1960s. I was born in 1956.) DeLoreans, manufactured by a mogul named John DeLorean, were a big deal in the mid-80s but they were so expensive they didn't sell well. They still look futuristic.

You're so likeable. The judge at the beginning of the movie saying Marty was "too darn loud" was Huey Lewis- the Writer and Singer of the two songs in the movie (Back in Time and the #1 Billboard chart topper at the time of the movie's release "The Power of Love." "Johnny B. Goode" was a top 10 Hot 100 chart topper written and performed by Chuck Berry in 1958. His cousin Marvin called him in November, 1955 and let him listen to some Hill Valley kid performing it at a high school dance. :)

I’m still surprised that _Back In Time_ was only on the Billboard Rock chart. It reached number three, which isn’t bad at all, though. I think both are great songs, but TPoL (being a chart topper) gets all the recognition.
@dsscam
@dsscam 5 ай бұрын
@@0okamino Back then, they ranked records by sales and Back In Time was the FLIP side of TPOL....“Back in Time” by Huey Lewis and the News, which was featured in the 1985 blockbuster film “Back to the Future,” holds an interesting place in music history. Let’s delve into how it made its way onto the Billboard charts despite being the B-side to “The Power of Love.” The Power of Love: “The Power of Love” was specifically written for the “Back to the Future” soundtrack. It became Huey Lewis and the News’ first number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and their second number-one hit on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart 1. Interestingly, the song’s lyrics do not directly reference the film’s storyline. It appears early in the movie as Marty McFly skateboards to school and later when his band plays a hard rock version of the song during a Battle of the Bands audition 12. “Back in Time”: “Back in Time” was the B-side to “The Power of Love.” B-sides were typically less prominent than the main A-side on vinyl records. Despite its secondary status, “Back in Time” gained recognition because of its association with the film. It played during pivotal moments, including when Marty returns to his neighborhood and in the iconic DeLorean time machine scene in the music video 12. The song’s inclusion on the film’s soundtrack contributed to its popularity, even though it wasn’t the primary focus. Billboard Chart Success: “The Power of Love” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 46 for the week ending June 29, 1985. Billboard described it as an “out-of-the-box monster hit” 1. Later, “The Power of Love” peaked at No. 1 on the Hot 100, securing its place in music history. The song’s success likely boosted the visibility of “Back in Time” as well. In the United Kingdom, “The Power of Love” was released as a double-A side with “Do You Believe in Love,” becoming the band’s only top ten hit on the UK Singles Chart 13. In summary, while “Back in Time” may have been the flipside to the chart-topping “The Power of Love,” its connection to the iconic film and the band’s overall success contributed to its recognition and enduring appeal

And like some other said, the song you were jamming to, at the end, “Back in Time.” Was written and performed by Huey Lewis, who had a cameo in the movie, which was the guy saying “you’re just too darn loud,” into the megaphone, toward the beginning.

🎶 "That's The Power Of Love!" 🎶 Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Billy Zane. Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Writers Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis actually received a fan letter from John DeLorean after the film's release, thanking them for immortalizing his car. Music Enthusiast Fact: The judge who stands up to say that Marty (Michael J. Fox) is "just too darn loud" is actually Huey Lewis, whose songs "The Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" are featured in this movie. Marty's (Michael J. Fox) guitar is a Ibanez black Roadstar II. Small Connection Fact: When Lorraine follows Marty (Michael J. Fox) back to Doc's house, she and Doc exchange an awkward greeting. This marks the only on-screen dialogue that Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson ever have, though they have appeared together in six movies. Historical Fact: Apparently, Ronald Reagan was amused by Doc Brown's (Christopher Lloyd) disbelief that an actor like him could become President, so much so that he had the projectionist stop and replay the scene. He also seemed to enjoy it so much that he even made a direct reference of the film in his 1986 State of the Union address: "As they said in the film Back To The Future (1985), 'Where we're going, we don't need roads.'"

One not really felt sense the 50s, and early 60s. Not to say the 80s were perfect. It still head a cynical out look, but was dropping it's nihilistic outlook. America could make fun of itself. even though this was made before i was born too this is in my top 10 if not top 5 american movies. michael j fox is one of the best actors ever. i like how they showed if one change to the past was made it could have drastic effects on the future and present, like with the name of the mall. he went back in time and change his and his family's life accidentally but for the better. even though he had to kiss his mom in the process...dang and he named himself too. lol the original marty mccfly was played by eric stoltz. they wanted michael j fox but he was too busy shooting family ties, so they went with eric. eric was a good actor but his marty came off way too serious. they went and begged michael and the studio to star in the role again and they agreed and they dropped eric from the role. footage with the scenes of eric as marty came out a few years ago and if you look at them the actor that plays biff he looks more energetic in the scenes with eric as marty, but in the scenes with michael as marty biff looks tired and has bags under his eyes. that's because when marty finally agreed to do the role they had to hurry and reshoot all the scenes with eric in them with michael, so a lot of the actors were tired.

You talking about thinking about the future and getting lottery numbers etc, means you must watch the sequels! They’re great and get even deeper.

The DeLorean was a All Stainless steel Car... It will never ever rust... Noriously know for electrical problems iususally statrting, it's top speed was 88 mph... gull wing doors... Back to the Future II is highly ecommended The Third one... well out of espect for The Late 'DOC' ( Christopher Lloyd ) who loved Old Wetern entertainment.... So When / how did Marty 1st meet the Doc??

Fun fact: The sounds the DeLorean made in the trilogy were dubbed in. The sounds used were from the Porsche 928 (if you know the movie Risky Business, you'll see what I'm talking about 😁); that had a V8. The DeLorean, OTOH, used a rear-mounted V6 that was gutless, and problematic as well (it was the Peugeot-Renault-Volvo V6; it was MADE IN FRANCE, so there you go. Lol). So not only was the DeLorean plagued with electrical issues, it was heavy, slow and needed a lot of repairs done to the engine, I'm sure

When you watch the second one it will say to be continued at the end. STOP it right there otherwise it will give you spoilers for the 3rd one. You don't want that. When it came out originally in the theater it took a whole year for it to come out and there was no other way to watch movies back then EXCEPT in the theater.

This trilogy gets better every time I watch it. The Flux Capacitor is done so well. We're told nothing about it except it takes hella power to make it work. It's so we only have to suspend for one thing and everything else flows from it, and works across all three movies. I'm in the minority because I love all three equally. Until LoTR came along it was the GOAT, and still is in the Sci F genre, LoTR being high fantasy. You're gonna love them all too!🧓🎭📽️😎
