Back to the LEGO STORE... Buying More January 2024 Sets!

In this VLOG I head back to the LEGO store to buy more January 2024 releases! PLUS they had a set that I've wanted for quite some time in stock! Win-win! Did I need to get more LEGO... yes, yes I did lol. The GWP was still available and it is if for sure a beauty!

I enjoy your daily videos while I am on lunch break. I built the Creator astronaut which I enjoyed and have it right next to the retired Creator shuttle and the Expert moon lander. I also have the Tales of the Space Age currently on the same shelf sitting behind the shuttle, moon lander and astronaut. Keep up the great work.

I tend to make smaller purchases at the Lego store, even with selling gwp's it takes a while before you get your money back and you have to spend so much to get them now it defeats the purpose of getting the gwp to sell in the first place. Yeah i only really buy sets when they are on discount or its a gwp that i want for my collection and Lego exclusive sets that are no available in other retailers. If i need a Lego fix, i go for the pick a brick wall something like that. I save my insider points in case i do need a discount on a larger set or there is some amazing item you can redeem the points in the rewards section. Otherwise all other sets you can readily get huge 20%+ discounts at other retailers saving the money which you actually have to spend rather than that money being tired up in loyalty money that only has one place where you can spend it.

amen and is my point too as many people have limited funds and need to be creative as they don’t get sets for free. The best advice i can give is most sets last 1-3 years and from black Friday to early Jan you can get a ton of discounts! happy bricking all!

I totally agree. I don't buy new releases at the Lego store. I wait for other retailers to have sets for the standard 20% off. I will pick up exclusives or I am a sucker for a Star Wars GWP in May.

Yes im not saying i have a problem gaining points, they are a good thing we agree. The points you get per set is usually around 5% cash back in store credit or 10% on x2vip. What i am saying is i would prefer to save 20% by buying else where instead of paying a higher price at lego store just for the points. You can scan manuals from any set wherever you buy them from so that is irrelevant. If you can see what im saying great if not never mind have a nice day. @@Tstatic22

I went to the Lego Store at Potomac Mills on New Years Day. I ended up picking up the Polaroid as well as the Creator 3 in 1 Camera. Both super easy builds.

IMPORTANT you can scan the big qr codes on the boxes, they will reveal a number that corresponds to a minifigure. R = Mexico, which should apply to minifigures sold in the USA, Canada and possibly Latin/South America. S = Czech Republic, which should apply to minifigures sold in the UK, EU. In Australia, we got the S-factory codes for Marvel Minifigures Series 2, but I’m not 100% sure about Series 25. I sympathize and wish i had a lego store within an hour from me! Besides the GWP or VIP points (target included) the best place to buy lego is not really at the lego store and is usually cheaper at retail stores or online. they are amazing to see in person, the employees are incredible but my advice is to ironically not buy Lego from lego as they only discount over the holidays or to stock out - also what other retailers do. Enjoy the shopping Bricksie and think we all wish we had a basement your size to do a city and displays. it’s took while and is ever evolving process but incredible job on cleaning up your lego room and looks so much better then i when i first followed you a year ago. stay well and take care - Jonny

Hard disagree - Lego is as expensive anywhere else as it is at the Lego store and you don't even get VIP points. Sure, if there is a good sale like what Toys R Us had then it is worth while, but if you're just looking to get sets regular price, especially large sets, not buying at the Lego store is a huge mistake. That being said, I try not to buy sets unless I get 2x VIP points or a GWP anyway.

I just bought two 3-in 1 Creator sets of the spaceship for my cousin’s children ( apparently I can call them my niece and nephew) and the New York postcard for a boy I used to nanny( 9 in June) who I have already got the London and Paris postcards for. No 3-in-1 camera though, that I want to get for my brother’s big birthday that ends in a 0 in June, as he works as a photographer/videographer/graphic design person

The Marvel X-Jet🛩️, that set with Wolverine is mostly way better than the one we got from the randomized cardboard box Minifig search if you did that search a few months ago. The Wolverine torso needed to be reprinted due to the amount of excess print job on them. 👎🏼😣😔 So Now’s the opportunity to get a better one.

I've seen those CMF QR code posts on Instagram, but by the comments it sure doesn't seem like it's true. It would sort of defeat the purpose of Lego wanting people to buy more of them to try and find a whole set.

What happened with the scanning of the QR codes in the instructions to get points? I guess if you buy things at the Lego score do you get both lots of points. Also a new Lego store opened in Sydney in November, marketed as the biggest Lego store in the world. I had my first and so far only visit there the week before Christmas and it was so busy it was hard to appreciate the size and I was so focused on getting the personalised minifigs for my sons for Christmas, which was even busier I am sure I didn't appreciate what was there. Anyway I gave my VIP number when paying and asked about a gift with purchase and was told there wasn't one but I would get a voucher. Since then I have read a bit about Lego stores and Lego certified stores and was wondering what the difference meant when buying as a VIP, having previously done most of my shopping online from Lego or Kmart here in Australia ( recently scanning the QR codes) I have only ever got a GWP with an online purchase. What is the difference between points and vouchers. Sorry my question is so long. Like lots of others I am enjoying watching you do more building, that raccoon wasn't such a jerk he refocused your passion.

In Australia Lego stores and Lego Online are two different companies each with their own VIP/Insiders Programs. Sometimes they have the same GWPs but typically they have different promos. QR codes on instructions still give points.
