Yes you're right about Family, that is where my country USA fell short in the cities, and where I have personally...I really miss the family members I had from a better generation and time, they were instrumental in my life. The main thing is that life is not just about us (alone/personally), and the narcissistic aspects of self-indulgence encouraged by this current iteration of the culture: you are fighting this way better than I ever did.

If I may ask, Where have you been? For the air defence to be active I guess it must have been near the front or near Kyiv... Correct? How much time did it take to cross the border in bus? I usually cross the border in train as they have told me the bus may take quite a long time... and just one more question, is it easier to get a bus ticket? Usually trains must be booked sometime in advance or there will be no tickets.

It's very safe. Safer than London. I've been to UA three times in the last 15 months. As far as Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts. So all the way across the country. Anyone who says it's not safe, is also afraid of their own shadow, and will be at least triple jabbed. I may be moving to UA next month....because London is NOT safe.
@GaryAJMartin10 ай бұрын
@@davidwebb4904 depends what is meant by ‘safe’. You are not likely to get killed, no doubt. But I’m curious why you think London is not particularly safe? I don’t have the feeling in London I did in Ukraine. Admittedly, this was when they kept saying Russia is about the storm the beaches of Odessa any moment! And there were explosions now and then. Perhaps it is different now. But I found it unsettling is the best word for it. I wasn’t scared. But unsettled. And life is too short to feel often unsettled, when there is a world of choice where to be. And things COULD change at some point. I wonder if they did, you would stay regardless. Personally, I think they will, and not in a good way. But I hope I’m wrong.
@davidwebb490410 ай бұрын
@@GaryAJMartin In London, you get stabbed to death, you get your home/office/van broken into, you get your phone snatched and your wallet pickpocketed, you get robbed at knifepoint, while sitting in your car at a red light, in the middle of the day, stores are being gang robbed just like California. 10 people even got killed by dogs last year. All this crime, the police just shrug. They don’t give a sht. We are on our own, yet its illegal to defend yourself or protect your own property. Because that is the only tine the police do take notice. To prosecute the victims of crimes. Ukraine is a peaceful vacation in comparison.

It was pretty shocking to hear an air raid siren. In Britain, the last time we heard these sirens was during World War II. It's good to see that you can still buy food from supermarkets. I've seen Polish chocolate wafers in British supermarkets that look similar to the ones you had on the carpet. It's also interesting to hear that not all war news actually makes it into Ukrainian national headlines or international headlines, and that people are now used to these war headlines in Ukraine. Unfortunately, this looks like it will be a very long war, maybe like the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
@Olga_Reznikova10 ай бұрын
Yes, unfortunately((
@juanpedrogonzalez998710 ай бұрын
The most shocking thing about the air raid sirens in the western part of the coutry is that nobody reacts to them except foreigners. If you stay at a hotel at Lviv and go to the shelter you will find just a couple of people there, most of the customers will stay in their rooms. The first time I was there I always went to the shelter, in my last visit I kept on the street... On my second time, even more shocking that the air raid sirens where the sounds of planes late in the afternoon in the city where I was at, knowing there is no civil aviation. If you visit, for example, Lviv you will see normal life in the streets even if the air raid sirens are on (Obviously except for the curfew). However, I am talking about the western part of Ukraine, things changes a lot if you would go to Kyiv or even closer to the front. I think right now there are some more news reaching the media, at least the Kyiv post had a recent article of opinion talking about some enlistments done at bus stations which are a bit "ugly"... So it seems it is getting a bit more transparent although still there are some things that do not appear on the news.

I like your videos, because you seem to be a loving person with a sane attitude and an open mind. If people like you ran the world, this war would have ended long ago. It would have ended in Apr 2022, when Moscow and Kiev reached an agreement on terms very favorable to Kiev. Actually, I think it would have ended nine years ago. You were probably critical of the Yanukovych government, but I doubt that you would have been rioting on Maidan Square, shooting at the police, setting fire to buildings, etc.. It saddens me that so many innocent people like you have to suffer because of the naivety of those who trusted Victoria Nuland and ate her poison cookies. For forty years, I have been quietly opposing the empire that did this to your country and to so many other countries around the world, overthrowing peaceable governments under the pretext that it was spreading "Freedom and Democracy". The need to resist this evil and expose the truth forces us all to become larger and deeper. We find spiritual reasources we didn't know we had. There are still many who cannot bear to hear the shocking truth, but the tide is turning.
