May your Magnitone bring you years of enjoyment and thanks for sharing a great story. Your wife is indeed thoughtful and caring (don't forget to reply in kind!). I have a couple awesome amps, but the one among them that players covet is my genuine 1964 Fender Vibroverb w/ 15" JBL D140F speaker. It is one of the early AA763 units, completed January 1964. Sings like a bird. More tweed sounding that SRV's highly modified Viborverbs and is still in great shape for a well played amp. No celebrity owned equipment, though.

Last year I bought my first ever properly vintage piece of gear, a Magnatone 210 from 1959. It has the form factor like the reissues, Magnatone on the front metal panel, rear slanted control panel, brown tolex with a chevron, 8" Alnico speaker, 5 Watt single ended 6V6, Volume and tone with the pitch shifting vibrato. Similar to the new Stalight but with Vibrato. It is absolutely amazing, and I had been keeping my eye on the Starlight resissue, I got mine for a couple hundred £'s less than the reissue. One of those things that I just fell lucky with, particularly finding an amp like that in the UK. Extremely rare over here. Your's sounds killer. Congratulations.

Good job on scoring the Magnatone! It has a great tone for sure and I can fully understand the sense of pride and happiness in owning it as I was able to pick up a couple of things from the Mike Campbell Reverb Shop myself (and also because of the support/full understanding approval of the wife!) The prize piece for me being his Les Paul Custom Lite that he had up for sale. I have found multiple pics and videos of him using that actual guitar on stage with the Dirty Knobs where the patterns in the mother of pearl inlays and cracks in the knobs are clearly visible.

Gotta jump in at "Alright...." me, friend gets a Magnatone 1 12 two knob amp and an Audition 'jag' alike for Christmas. ''66 or so. I had been given acoustics but wanted THAT. He traded this for a mini bike. '75, see a little 1 12 amp, A Magnatone, Estey era. Tubes, $75.00 with the cover. Bought a '75 HT Strat and with a red script Big Muff and Cry Baby, could scream along with my fave Trower, UFO or Thin Lizzy tunes. Move in '80, sold everything. Got on the horse just over a year later. Thing is, i never saw an amp like that again ! Black front facing control panel, Semi oval side panels with a white grille cloth and squiggle black paint. Sure, coudn't hang with a drummer, but the best at home or mic'd amp ever. yes reverb and Vibro.

If you are using the Reverb app it is very hard (if not impossible) to search for a specific shop. The only way I have found to search a specific shop on the app is if you have actually purchased something from that shop then you just pull up your purchase history. There used to be a way to search shops that you already follow on the app, but that functionality appears to have been removed recently. On the website it is much easier to search for specific, and the search will pull up every shop with a specific word in its name. The day that Mike’s shop went live I pulled it up by search shops with the word “Official” in the name. The crazy thing is I signed up for email notification for when the shop went and should have been following the shop from that point with all of the listings showing up in my feed as soon as it went live. That did not happen, and it hasn’t happened for the last few celebrity shops. It should also be noted that the search will only pull up shops that currently have active listings. In the past, Reverb used to keep celebrity artist shops up even after the gear had all been sold. They don’t anymore. Edit: I shave seen several Magnatone KZbin videos that get a lot of hate in the comments because Ted Nugent apparently uses them. The thumbs down might be from the fools who hate Magnatone because they hate Ted. Personally, I’m no fan of Ted’s music, his politics, or his lifestyle, but I love a great amp company regardless of who uses or doesn’t use them.
