Absolutely love that you had such an easy time with the antibiotics! That probably took a lot of stress out of it. A lot of people always say that healthcare in Europe, i.e. Germany is free but I'm a 25 year-old german student living in Germany and I have to pay 1400€ a year for healthcare (even though I don't have a job right now). And it's not the private healthcare type but the public one, so some doctors don't even accept you because they make less money off of you compared to privately insured people. I was literally asked a few weeks ago when I went to the doctor because I couldn't feel my arms anymore, if it was really that bad... Soo, it's definitely not free and perfect. But it's probably still cheaper than in the US.

I would just like to say people talk so bad about America s healthcare but I have heard from people in Europe and other places that they would really love to have our health care over the one they have so be careful what you wish for or what you think is way better than ours
@pattyann1963
@pattyann1963 Жыл бұрын
YES! I wish more people understood this. Nothing can ever really be “free.” There’s always a catch somewhere. Should American healthcare be as expensive as it is? Absolutely not. No reason for it. But free healthcare isn’t the answer. Then they are able to prioritize your healthcare and you can get extremely neglected. You won’t get as many benefits as you think. There needs to be a healthy medium/solution.
@zjenci
@zjenci Жыл бұрын
No, it's absolutely not free, but it's UNIVERSAL. I live in the EU, and EVERY person in my country, every child, teenager, student, adult and retired person has access to medical care, regardless of their employment status. When I was unemployed, I still had the same access to ALL health services, because other people taxes were paying for it, just like my taxes are now paying for someone else's health insurance. Is the system flawles? Absolutely not. I had to wait 18 months for an non- emergency ultrasound, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I’ve experienced the same thing with getting sick in a European country. This was many years ago before telehealth was a thing, but I just went to a local doctor, paid $50 and then took my script to a pharmacy and paid a couple bucks and I was good to go. I was floored at how accessible and affordable healthcare was.

Omg, I totally agree with you about how much more efficient and more affordable healthcare is in other countries. Our medical system in America, although they charge us a fortune, it’s reeeeally antiquated and crappy. We definitely do NOT get what we pay for. I quit going to regular Drs altogether because it just seemed like such a scam. I now go to Naturopaths and pay out of pocket for everything. Although it’s expensive, it’s still way cheaper and more effective than allopathic medicine. Plus the herbal antibiotic supplements work really well with less side effects.
@Andreeeitaa
@Andreeeitaa Жыл бұрын
I live in Europe and agree that the Healthcare system here is amazing but I have to point out that it is NOT free. For example 42% of my monthly pay goes to taxes (42%!!!!!). Part of that, and prob a good chunck, gets to financing the Healthcare system. We all contribute (and not equally since the more you earn the more taxes you pay) so that everyone, independently of their "financial status", can have access to good quality Healthcare.

I totally get how much of a pain it is to get prescriptions in the US. Before the pandemic in order to get my sons ADHD med refilled I had to fill out a PAPER form and MAIL it to my son's neurologist in a stamped ENVELOPE. They would MAIL me back a PAPER prescription that I then had to take to the Pharmacy to be filled. The whole process took like a week and a half lol. When the pandemic hit and we were going contactless they switched everything to digital. Now I just log onto a website and request the refill which is automatically sent digitally to the pharmacy. It takes less than a day. It kills me because it showed they literally could have been doing it this way the WHOLE time. It's like they just wanted to make the process harder for NO reason LOL

I was also not feeling super great there, either. Gaudi is so awesome and the story of his death breaks my heart. I hope you ate all the papatas bravas!! Also! The vermouth! The white is also good, just make sure to not get the dry. It is served with lemon, and is sooooo good. And the dark was served with orange. You can find some good vermouths in the states, you just have to really research. They’re there… Picasso museum is a MUST!! And the building it’s located is the perfect setting!! ❤️❤️❤️

@@taylorwynn .... what. if i go to any doctor/dentist/whatever here in Norway (literally ANY), the prescription is automatically in the national system and i can get my meds in 5 minutes. all i need to do is show my ID at the pharmacy. also, i can message my family doctor in the national health app if i need more of a certain prescription or a new one, and i'll get a notification once they've approved it. blows my mind how incredibly backwards the American system is. Enjoy European health care while you're here and stock up on some cheap meds! :D

As someone who moved to a Spanish speaking country(Dominican Republic), I learned how to speak fluent Spanish in 6 months by talking to Uber/Taxi drivers, waiters and new friends. I would just constantly ask how to say “this or that”. I never studied writing/reading in Spanish because its very similar to English. Once i learned how to speak, i just naturally knew how to spell and read Spanish. I feel like Spanish is easier than learning english, its a lot more simple. I don’t think i could have learned taking classes because “Hand-on” learning is what sticks to my brain
@julieme7927

That's the best way to become fluent but a combination of classes and immersion cuts the learning time in half. Spelling and writing in most western languages follows patterns that are familar.

Boy oh boy could I get on a rant about the ridiculousness of Healthcare in United States!!!!! A few years back I got very sick on a trip to Puerto Vallarta. The concierge arranged for and English speaking Doctor to come to my room, diagnose me and give me prescriptions (for Pancreatitis attack) ) and the meds $750.00 us. Better health care then I have EVeR received in the US!

I looove your travel vlogs 🥲 yes, the health system in us totally sucks, I hate it! And did you pay for this doctor in Barcelona or it was included in your travel insurance? I hope you feel better! I needed to catch up on your videos so I’m doing this today 😂❤

in EU some pills that say "you need prescription" pharmacists sell even without. I wanted anti inflammatory pills for my back pain that "they need prescription" but pharmacist sell them without. Sometimes prescription is just to lower the price of the pills. So yeah, yay EU health care

How do you like start the conversation of meeting back up with someone like the MUA and spend the day with them? I have social anxiety (not crippling but I still struggle) and I can’t even work up the nerve to ask my neighbor to go out for drinks just as a gals night out. Like I don’t even know how to start that kind of conversation

The QR code of getting prescriptions is actually something offered in military medical care. I would think this would be done normal medical care outside the military but I’m not sure I know anyone that has had QR code for their prescription that’s civilian.

I bought the Kindle Oasis during the Prime sale like you suggested!! I’m so excited to start using it so thanks for the rec! I was wondering if you had an more recommendations for the case? The one you linked is sold out and I’m hoping to get a good one! I suffer from chronic illnesses and I’m stuck in bed for most of the time (the 10 year anniversary is right now sadly) so I need something that will get the job done and is comfortable to hold. Also maybe can stand on it’s own? If thats an option even. I’m new to kindle lol
