I was rewatching this today and totally enjoying it. I find your videos are just as entertaining the second time around. There are some others I watch that, when I’m done, I say ‘Thank God that’s over with.’ But, honestly, I can’t say that with yours. I loved the plan of the video, balancing each phase of the job - mulching, felling the trees, grading out the dirt pile - with the commentary. It breaks up the video nicely and keeps my interest. (Thanks, Jodi!) One of the things I enjoyed most was Josh’s segment. It’s good you let him and Willie talk. Gives us the chance to get and know them as people and not just as your helpers. However, I was really impressed that you trust Josh to get the job done alone while you’re looking at other jobs, and the fact Willie is finishing up on another job. It says an awful lot for both Josh and Willie that they don’t need to be managed every second, that they’re trusted to be left on their own. And it says much for you that you allow them to grow and treat them as the intelligent beings they are. Just keep doing what you’re doing, trust in the Lord, and everything will prosper.

What kind of problem or damage can happen if you should run over an old field fence or barbed wire. I live on an old farm in Indiana and know there is buried and fallen fence around. I ask because I am trying to find someone in this area to do some work for me. Great Videos by the way!

If it's really old and rusted it usually won't bother it, it will cut it up but it can wrap up around the drum, have to cut it out with some pliers.

Okay I know you don't divulge your rates on KZbin and I respect that. I just would like to know what costs you take into consideration when bidding a job. I'm in the planning phases of starting my own brush control business here in MN, and am just trying to gain as much knowledge as possible.

Know what you need to make to cover your expenses (i.e. fuel, insurance, general liability, maintenance on machines). We charge most jobs by the location of the job, type of terrain, and type of material.
