That intro had me dying! History Channel! Check! Behind the times! Check! Shenanigans! Check! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just finished watching DP's video which he uploaded today. 26Oct2024! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Mrs. DirtPerfect is very appreciative of everyone getting her RV back on the road! Thank you, Area Diesel Service, for doing a great job on the turbo rebuild! I'm sure you are glad you didn't have to do the removal and install. Well worth the DP & MBTS shenanigans in that department! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am stunned with your prices. They are incredibly low for an item that has to be critically machined due to the rotating bits spinning at such high speeds. I wish I could have plumbed one into the aircraft I flew. (Getting an aviation "part" quadruples the prices at a minimum) *Thank you* for the video.

Great video, overview was great. Then the person who actually did the disassembly / reassembly did a great job of running commentary. His running commentary was so professional I almost wonder if he doesn't talk himself through the process each time even when the camera is off. 😀 Nicely done, working and explaining at the same time is much harder than it looks.

Hey Curt, what's that Bowie knife you've been using to open boxes. . . and using as a pointer? Enquiring minds want to know. That thing is glorious. 😃 • Yeah, Mike @ DP is a notorious lead foot, so it's entirely possible he WAS hot-rodding the engine of that skoolie when the turbocharger gave out. 😉 • Welcome to the video, Eli. Great to see you again. 👍 • Mmmmm, the oven. For cakes and parts, but not the same bake times. • That post-bake "Like & Subscribe" sign still brings a smile to my face. 🥲 • Well done, Eli. That seemed to go together smoothly. A testament to your expertise. Thanks for taking us along. • Heh, Curt. By chance, I just paused the video as you said "cata", and I know where "cata" leads. . ."catastrophic" or "catastrophically". . . and yup. "catastrophic shaft breakage". • That's one heck of a belt on that 7.3l Powerstroke engine. That thing must be like 5 feet (1.54m) long. • It's good to see that y'all were able to rebuild that TP38 turbo. • Mike got off easy with a $1038 bill for this repair. Once again, ADS comes through with a like-new repair of a severely-damaged system for a customer. Expertiae and parts accessibility. THAT'S why y'all are the best!

I heard of them breaking like that , when you shut the engine down with out letting them cool down for 15 20 minutes after working the engine hard , this was comen in bull dozers cause operator did not know to let the cool or cause it was the end of the day and they just wanted to go home , I heard the reason why they break up like that is because the oil supply is interrupted while the turbo is still hot , and the lose of oil on the hot turbo causes it to seize
@andrewklahold28803 ай бұрын
Oh yes, turbo is still spinning when the oil is interrupted, even my dodge Cummins, spins for like 5 minutes after you shut the engine off sorry I for got the spinny part,lol
@patcarpenter19912 ай бұрын
Different engine - but same idea. When I was in the army, there was a FACTORY installed notice on the dash to let the truck idle below 1,000 R.P.Ms. for for 5 minutes before shutting down.

Re the wheels, arent they supposed to me matched for balance when installing? or wasnt it just mentioned you put the marks together? In a hot running item assembly, a friend uses Crisco, It keeps stuff together like a bearing cage and then melts the sec the heat hits it and the oil takes over

As a former school bus driver, I found this video extremely interesting. One SMALL correction, that is NOT a "Large" school bus. Actually, it's fairly small. It looks like what we would've called a "35 passenger". We had 84 passenger & I *THINK* they made 90 passenger buses.
