Boss man… that is a complicated foundation. Does anyone build rectangular homes anymore? I like your corner jigs. It’s a simple solution to the problem of how to hold them in place. And… easier than writing a note to Dirt Buddy’s school to get him excused to miss… so he can hold them for you! It is my joy to watch a true professional at his craft… even if he’s crafting the filling of a hole.

Would love for you to do the site work on my future house near Bangor Maine, just not sure you would travel that far out of the NY area. I've been watching your videos from almost the beginning. You know your stuff Mike.

@@DIRT-BOSS I agree it wouldn't be cost effective. Would have to be extra compensation. I know your work is right on point because you film it and not many other people document their work like you do. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I like the jig idea. I always throw a small screw in each fitting to keep them from popping apart. nothing more frustrating then when they pop out and the dirt makes it hard to get back together.

Sorry Boss i dont know if i missed a video but on this video youve attached the gutter pipes to the one at the base of the house that goes around the house. My question is , where does the gutter water go....somewhere away from the house,. Is there a drywell?
@DIRT-BOSS
@DIRT-BOSS Жыл бұрын
Yes all pipes are gravity-fed to daylight out the lower side of propon wood line

Love your videos! Question: wont the gutters back up (in a heavy rain) if they are all tied into the same 4" line? Or is that not a concern?
@DIRT-BOSS
@DIRT-BOSS 2 жыл бұрын
No concern 4-in pipe takes massive amounts of water each pipe has its own volume.. on huge flash floods the gutter's overflow themselves before could even get down to the downspout

Hey Mike. I've been enjoying the content for a long time now. Question: That foundation perimeter pipe is strictly for the gutters, correct? I'm just wondering if there's another perimeter drain that takes ground water that doesn't come from the gutters? I've seen double piping in some cases depending on the grade of the lot. Also, would sand be suitable for foundation backfill in a situation where sand was readily available?
@DIRT-BOSS
@DIRT-BOSS 2 жыл бұрын
Yes there's three different pipes in the ground here interior perforated pipe that leads the daylight exterior perfidgerated pipe that leads to daylight all wrapped in stone.. then filter fabric then solid gutter pipe that leads to daylight which you see in this video but the beginning of the video you could see a quick clip of our pipes interior exterior before stone goes in.. sand would be suitable

Why is the garage’s backfilled with gravel? Can dirt with good clay content not be used? Or just not dig it out as deep like the basement. I’m sure there’s a reason it’s done I just don’t know why.
@DIRT-BOSS

We never use clay for backfill.. either rock gravel or sand in this site location we only have stone as a resource.
