Backfilling the 9,000 sq ft crawlspace. I'm back to get this crawlspace backfilled and graded around. The concrete guys just finished it last week so I need to backfill around it and get the garages filled in so the framers can start. I'm hoping to have enough material from the bottom part of the property to fill the garages and porches. It's going to take about 250 loads in the Hydrema to get everything to grade. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #crawlspace

Holy moly! That is gonna eat up a lot of material. I really did think they were putting in an elevator. Lol

Yeah I’ve put 70 loads around the house so far and 55 in the 3 car garage. It does look like an elevator lol

Brother, that’s amazing. I guess you just snap your fingers and 200-400 loads will magically appear without digging a pond and losing no more trees. I’m very intrigued with this series of this home to see how you make it happen. I say that because as long as I’ve been watching you’ve made everything happen in the previous videos when I was thinking, I don’t know. If you do make it happen, I guess you’ll have to add magic to your resume 😁. Thanks for sharing with us. Great video Brandon.

lol they would be fantastic! Thank you I appreciate the kind words. I’m sure I can make this one work but we are hauling in good fill now to place in the garages and porches cause there is just not enough there. Appreciate you watching

That foundation is amazing. You would think they were building a branch bank in the neighborhood. You have really been putting the Hydrema through quite a bit of dirt hauling on your recent projects including this one. I was noticing the tracks on your excavator and was wondering how would you grade the condition of your tracks (100% being new) and when you change them in the future will you go back with rubber? I know you have said in the past the rubber tracks work better for your usual job sites.

It’s definitely quite the foundation. Especially for a house for two people lol. Yes I love the hydrema it’s been earning its keep. Hmm my tracks maybe a little over 50% they’re not bad just really cut up from the rocks. I’d like to go steel tracks next but I’m back and forth cause I do work on asphalt some.

That house has more square footage than my whole lot my house sits on! I guess backfilling a basement or crawl space is like backfilling an empty swimming pool. Dump in bucket fulls with the excavator, push down a bit and add lifts. Too much compaction and the walls buckle.
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 10 күн бұрын
🤣 yeah it’s almost as big as my yard and house put together. Yeah there is a fine line on not enough compaction and too much

I know it’s not your idea, but I will never understand why you would fill a concrete room that has a deep footer and easy access to the outside and or the basement. DB had to do that to a couple of new homes also recently. 30 years after our ranch house was built I had all the “ DIRT” that the contractor back filled with removed and replaced it with washed large gravel to the surface . It took a very good contractor to dig it out and a large number slinger trucks to get it filled in. PITA Added 3 layers of different types water proofing at same time.

Two of the areas are going to be garages and two are porches. None of them have access to the crawlspace but the clean rock idea is better. It will never settle and drain so much better

I just picked up a used TB260 and I am interested in a grading bucket. Do you ever feel the need for a tilt bucket or a rotator tilt grading bucket ? Being that my machine is just for personal use I can't justify spending more on a tilt rotator than I did for the machine but a tilt grading bucket might be useful what do you think? Why don't you have a tilt grading bucket or rotator?🍻
@eliteearthworksllc
@eliteearthworksllc 10 күн бұрын
Nice! I would like to eventually get a tilt grading bucket that would definitely come in handy in many situations. I have no desire for a tilt rotator I feel like our rocky soil would pull one apart and I don’t do enough utility work to justify the expense of one.

Hey, I know where you could get some dirt - just dig a basement somewhere...... Well, anyway, sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't. I don't have any problem with the extra waterproofing, but trying to get dirt where there really isn't any dirt is crazy. Sounds to me like another case of NOT LISTENING to someone who knows better.

lol the homeowner did ask me yes if he would have been money ahead to dig a basement and I told him yes 😁 but they are committed now so we just have roll with it.
