Nice one. These plays are what a coach refers to as “pac man” plays, because (like in the video game) occasionally Pac Man turns around and eats the ghosts, rather than being chased by them. What seems like a liability is turned into an attacker. Related questions to ask yourself with these plays would be: • How good is my attack or blocking potential if missed? • How many rolls would the opponent actually hit with? • How bad is it actually TO be hit? • What duplication is being leveraged? • Am I advancing my game plan? • Do I get to unstack a heavy point? • How many extra gammons are lost? Oh, and of course - what’s the DMP play? 😂
