The finished cards are beautiful. I must add that the backgrounds are stunning. The process was fun and I might actually like trying the backgrounds to die cut flowers. Also, leaving the backgrounds bold and adding coordinating pastel die cuts could be fun. The velum sentiment is extra special with the thin white embossed edge. It adds a little extra zing! Thanks for teaching this technique Natasha...🌷🌷

I loved the backgrounds you originally created before you covered them up with the paint. Your cards came out beautiful in the way you finished them but I would like to see another approach keeping those very cool backgrounds you started out with. Happy Holidays Natasha! I don’t make cards but love watching you make them. Are your cards sold in shops? Do you have to do the marketing? I’ve never seen one I did not like. I’ve given on cards and gifting at 78yo. I do mixed media, journals, monopriniting, doodling and zen tangle. Happy holidays to you and yours. 🎄🥂

Thank you Jo and Merry Christmas from here in New Zealand! I don't sell the cards at all. My family use them, and just take what they need, and I also give them to a local Hospice shop to sell for themselves. All of those arts sound wonderful!..Tomorrow features a doodling video coincidently!

I've just started dabbling in art journals, but I wanted to use the card making supplies I already have (which doesn't include a lot of acrylic paint). I've been reading that if you use inks that aren't permanent, they will react with the rest of your mediums, but no one really went into what would happen. So thank you, for showing us what happens (and what we can do to fix it if we want to)! I know water will react differently, but I couldn't quite visualize what would happen with acrylic and Oxides. You are an amazing teacher and have quickly become one of my favorites (now if I could just get you to teach everything I need to learn about everything! 😆). I wish you health, happiness and much success in the new year.
@angelheart64573 жыл бұрын
The background are awesome and I loved watching them develop. I was dissapointed that you covered that background up with the paint. Of course you need to do what is best for you as we all do. I personally would have used a translucent colour on the flowers themselves to highlight them and let the background shine in all its glory.

I like the white embossing powder around the edge of the stamped piece. New Idea for me to try! I also took note of you having pre cut and pre-scored card pieces, so I went through my many boxes of cut out card stock, left over from using my brother scan and cut. I'm proud of my stock of A6 pieces! I think I've done about 3 different colours so far. I have also thought of going through since trips and weaving them for backgrounds. It's good to just be in the craft room doing something when I'm not actually doing anything!

I have to say I really loved the background before you added the yellow acrylic and I was on tender hooks as to how it would turn out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and do like the finished result. However I di think that it was stunning before you added the yellow.
