Today, I play with perspective and explore vanishing points to make a manga background using Clip Studio Paint. Using these techniques, I want to make more bold backgrounds using perspective.

I would love to see tutorials about how to save backgrounds for animation purposes--not just the act of placing one cel in a png folder--but which shortcuts we can use to change the shape of an existing file altering its current vanishing points.

I tend to half-ass backgrounds when I do them last and I'm like... Trying super hard to bring more dynamic elements into my pieces and really make the background part of the character study. So that's why I generally tend to do backgrounds FIRST nowadays, I try to like force my hand into actually giving a damn about the way it looks, and... It works pretty well I gotta say. That's definitely a good tip for people that struggle to draw backgrounds. Just like... Don't even think about the character when you're doing the background, like obviously consider how they'll fit into the environment, but don't obsess over wanting to draw the fun part. Saving the best for last can actually be a super good strategy; it builds anticipation and gets you hyped up, at least for me 😊

The fundamentals are important! If you can visualize shapes in perspective, you can draw anything :)

@@REMCreates I have been avoiding the perspective ruler tool. but once i made an effort to learn it now i'm able to paint lot faster and also lot better

I love your videos and my kids love them as well! Question, which one do you use, Pro or Ex to do the perspective drawing? Also, what tool did you use to do this drawing? Thanks!

Glad you enjoy my videos! I personally use Ex but the perspective tools are on both versions. As far as hardware, I use the Wacom Cintiq 16, but there are other cheaper pen displays from Huion and other brands that could work just fine too. :)
