The staff of Unhealig is one of my favourites. Glad to see it getting some love! The fact it isn't an attack means it bypasses the heavy spikes builds that are super popular at the moment.

It really is a perfect counter to outlast stalling shield builds. A smart shielder will slow you down with "reduced opponent healing" gems though!

@@ZiggyDGaming For sure, a couple of rubies in armour slots help a lot. It pairs surprisingly well with Gooberts, too, as it converts all healing. Can get some decent burst damage out of it. If you can get the mana gen to support it phase blades are a nice combo to bypass armour with attacks and provide something you can slap amythsts in

Spike armor builds are so cancer that any pure melee weapon comp seems unplayable now.

I really hope the devs create more gooberts. There needs to be one of every color and if you create them all, you can play as a goobert character.

My go-to build right now is rolling first stage for broom + stone, ideally 2. Then i just try to get mushrooms + banana + garlic if possible and then save for round 6/7 where I hope for the stone bag and mana orb. After that its trying to get gem box, more mana orbs, dragons, bird pet, and holy armors. The holy armor is a must imo. Cursed doll with holy armor cleanses pretty much every debuff, and with a purple gem on magic staff (also activated with cursed doll) stops opponents from stacking too many buffs (like the buster sword one shot build, or thorn reliant builds). I pretty much force this build every time.

Bloody hell, I need to give the staff another go - only made it once by accident and wasn't really impressed, but this looks really good. Especially against the thorns builds you face every second fights currently. No idea who popularised those, but I'm gonna blame Day9 on general principle! Thank you for the content

I destroyed all day yesterday with the mana staff/manathirst combo you mentioned. W/o healing its tough to beat spike and/or struggles builds but other than that it dominates the current meta

I played some this morning. Why is everyone suddenly stacking defense and thorns? Ended up coming up with a build that absolutely blasted through them.

Not sure, it's pretty solid but it has some decent counters so it'll probably self correct a bit. Also I may have contributed a bit as I ran a tank build yesty that'll I'll post the vid of tomorrow or something heh

It's been going on a couple days now. My guess is people playing ranked, getting wrecked by no weapon all thorns and shields build and copying it. Rinse and repeat until everyone is doing it. It's going to take ranged builds like this becoming more popular to help self correct it.

It'd be a good combo! Hammer is also good for economy. And with the current popular shield spam strategies no weapon builds work well too! Problem is actually getting enough gooberts 😂
