Can't thank you enough for this video. I purchased a backpack sprayer and attempted to put down prodiamine yesterday. I was getting so frustrated that i packed it back up and set up the return to send it back.. I found this video the next morning and by 2:30 in the afternoon had sprayed my yard and my parents. Thanks!

Appreciate your videos and all the tips you offer! I recently purchased a My4Sons sprayer myself. With the brass tip at 60 PSI i'm getting about 1 gallon every 2 minutes and 48 seconds. When calibrating my walking pace to the sprayer I found a free metronome app keeps me on track! At the current rate of my sprayer, 65 BPM works well for my stride (taking one step per beat).

Thanks Mr. Hane for helping me tremendously understanding my own M4S sprayer even better. Till I can walk better, I’ll use the variable pressure at maybe half pressure or even less.

Having walking issues is the pits. I've got spinal compression that limits what I can do... which as you know, makes being an LCN very difficult.

Your timing is impeccable. I just got my My4sons (gold model) sprayer. I used it to spot spray my winter weeds. You have saved me time playing with the nozzles. Next week I will put down the granular Protamine. Mine came with the spray gun which might produce a higher PSI. I think I have an adapter that will fit my pressure washer nozzles. So I will try those and see. And yes I went out and bought a scale.

Get part 3 up already! haha! Great work Allyn. I recently purchased the My4Sons sprayer and used it for a Dismiss application with a Teejet nozzle. Absolutely a dream to run. Love the fact I no longer have to pump to keep the pressure regulated. Looking forward to your nozzle recommendations.
@fredcurrier59124 жыл бұрын
Irodom, what TeeJet nozzle are you using, and how are you connecting it? My4Sons has a metric connection, and I thought that all of the TeeJets were standard.
@lrodom4 жыл бұрын
@@fredcurrier5912 the nozzle drops straight into the my4sons threaded collar. I used a flat washer and an o-ring on top of the nozzle to make a good seal. So far, it's been working with no issues. I do need to update the nozzle though. My current one's volume per minute is too low for my liking. It takes me roughly 20-25 minutes to spray through 4 gallons. I'd like to get down closer to 10 minutes for that volume.
@fredcurrier59124 жыл бұрын
@@lrodom I had a feeling that it might fit into the collar... and what I was hoping. Which specific nozzle are you using? I'm thinking of 1 of the reds, which should put out around .91gal over 1Ksf at 40PSI and 1.0gal at 50PSI, both walking at a 3MPH pace. Not sure of how wide the spray pattern will be yet though.

Allyn, you "said" at the end that the brass fan tip that you used was best for weed control. I presume that's due to droplet size? Pre-emergent weed control and soil apps (large drops), or post-emergent needing smaller drops? Yesterday, I used my sprayer and the tip that you used for the first time, to spray RGS and Humic. I'm REALLY looking forward to the 3rd installment, especially since the wand connection is metric and most TeeJets that I've looked at are not.

The engineer in me is compelled to comment: measuring a full gallon once will be more precise than averaging 3 separate quarts. Assuming similar measurement error for both time and volume under each condition, a single, larger spray will be closer. Of course, averaging 3 one gallon sprays would be even better.

I have had the M4S sprayer for 2 years now and the variable pump is nice. The tank seal at top failed right away. I wish I had bought another as the wands and threads on it are not standard so you are stuck with the cheap fittings and adapters they sent with it even after paying for the upgraded sprayer fitting kit. To use other sprayer tips I would have to rebuild the hose. It just felt like the different tips seemed cheap. I call them the Tonka spraying kit. I stopped using it for lawn spraying and only use it now with the adjustable tip and Pest Control.

Depending on what that tip is rated for you could get more gpm at a lower PSI. going beyond the psi rating for a tip produces a finer mist which can lead to fewer gpm. in short more PSI doesn't always mean more gpm.

Justin, you're still going to have to find out how much is left when the liquid is sloshing around too much for the pump to prime anymore. For me, it was about 14oz... so I added 14oz above the 1 gallon/K so that I had even pressure throughout... and slowed to a crawl to get that last bit out.

Allyn, is there a reason you use the Teejet Turbo Floodjet vs Teejet Turbo Teejet Induction. Looking at the Teejet chart for the droplet size: the Turbo Floodjet doesn't put out the UC (Ultra Coarse) droplet size for pressure greater than 30-40psi depending which one we looking at. For backpack sprayer, it usually has 40psi or greater which means we wouldnt get the UC (Ultra Coarse) droplet size. The Turbo Teejet Induction indicate we can still get UC droplet size at 60psi. Can you let me know some of your thoughts on this please? Thanks
