I'm back in Australia! 🥳 This is the start of a new backpacking trip heading up the East Coast from Byron Bay to Cairns.
In Byron Bay, I stayed in Wake-Up Hostel. I went kayaking with dolphins, watched the sunrise from the lighthouse, went snorkelling in the sea and chilled on the beach.

ABOUT ME🙋🏻‍♀️
I'm Christianne, a solo traveller, vlogger and entrepeneur from Surrey, UK. FAQ's
How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these KZbin videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

Thanks for the lovely vlog! I was backpacking Australia from 2017-2018, so seeing your video brought back so many beautiful memories. I have to say tho I'm a bit shocked over the increase of prices. Back then most hostels usually cost around 20 max. 25$. I expected it to be more expensive nowadays but that's wild. Still hope I can come back one day tho 😍

There’s deffo been price increases since COVID! But this was also peak season in one of the nicest hostels in town. There were other much cheaper options available!

When I see the clip of strangers in the hostel I feel a lot of anxiety thinking of myself being in your situation, alone around strangers and far away from home. This is a big reason that deters me from wanting to solo backpack.
@BackpackingBananas
@BackpackingBananas Жыл бұрын
Funnily enough, it’s strangers in a hostel that help me feel more comfortable and at home ☺️ it would be a darn lonely place on the other side of the world without them! (They become friends v quickly)

@@BackpackingBananas I can see your perspective once you've become acquainted with other travelers. My irrational fear is just the first step of being socially included. What if you don't click with anyone, or formed groups are already too busy and you feel lonely? I have these thoughts while in the comfort of my home, as I've never done this before. This fear is something I would like to overcome through experiences, hopefully more good than bad. Would you consider making a video with your tips or experiences when initially socializing with strangers at a hostel, or challenges you faced and how you managed them?
