Backpacking Caprock Canyon

Visited Caprock Canyon State Park for the first time for Christmas to test out a bunch of new backpacking gear.
I drove from Dallas with my dog, hiked the lower north and south prong loops and camped at the north prong primitive camp site. The following day we woke up and backtracked a bit from the day before, hiked the upper north prong trail and a portion of the lower south prong to the primitive camp site where we stayed for the night. We woke up bright and early the next morning to hike back to the car via the Haynes Ridge Overlook Trail.
Overall it was a great trip that I would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
