The compressed towels are the absolute bomb. I would never do a short or long hike without them. Wiping sweat, cleaning pots, TP... heck let one dry out and rub some chap stick/petroleum jelly into it as a fire starter.

So excited to use these for my hike this year!

Portawipes changed everything for me! So SO handy. It's so nice being able to take a "bath" after a long day on the trail as well.

Super excited to use them out on trail this year!

This is so exciting Kathleen! I ran into you on the PCT when I was starting my solo hike along section J in Washington. Thanks for the sticker! Your videos were such a big help to me when planning that hike and your videos from section K are helping me to plan the next one! I'll be out doing the Timberline Trail again next week. Depending on when you make your way through Oregon, maybe we'll cross paths again! Happy hiking!

So glad that my videos have been helpful with your own trip planning. That would be so awesome to run into out on trail again. If you see me out there, be sure to say hello. Have fun on all of your hikes this summer!

Do you remember what brand and where you got that collapsible water bottle? I bought one and couldn't get the "plastic" smell out of it and tossed it. I really need one. I am learning I need more protein for my autoimmune and on the trail I am not sure if my dehydrated meals are truly meeting that. Happy trails!
@TheHungryHiker11 ай бұрын
The link to the collapsible water bottle is on my 2023 PCT Gear List: lighterpack.com/r/keiy5r. I also just released a new video featuring all the gear I loved and didn't love using while hiking the PCT this year. This bottle is featured in my new video! Check out the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIetpJWAdrt-fNE

Hey Kathleen!! Just out of curiosity: why did you switch from the BeFree to the Sawyer?? I missed that somewhere along the way, haha
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Better flow, able to back flush it when I get into town AND CNOC only makes the PCTA 2-liter Vecto bags (dirty water bags) with the PCT map on it...so I switched back.

Where did you get the dirty sobo hat? I clicked the link and it took me a shop where it’s custom made?
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
I designed my Dirty SoBo hat myself and had it printed for my hike!

I’m kind of surprised by the equipment list it seems to be a lot to fit in that tiny backpack if yours. I look forward to seeing how it all fits inside.
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
It all fits perfectly and will fit even better as I eat my food in-between town stops.
@WaywardTexan Жыл бұрын
What's a Dirty SOBO? Why trail runners instead of sturdy hikers with ankle support? I'm guessing weight.
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Since I’m heading southbound and one is rarely clean while they’re thru-hiking, I’ll be a Dirty SoBo. 😀
@shayzoo2 Жыл бұрын
Ok. So just to be clear you aren’t doing the whole trail right? Because you are starting southbound at the Washington Oregon border and not flip-flopping. So you aren’t doing the Washington to Canada stretch?
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Here's a whole video where I explain how I plan on hiking my hike along the PCT this year: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHycqWyge8uZmpIsi=IMdPoSNo15Opr4dI

Why are you skipping Washington and starting at Oregon? I think the Washington part is way prettier than Oregon.
@TheHungryHiker Жыл бұрын
Washington State is my most favorite part of the entire PCT. I’ve hiked the entire Washington section of the PCT twice now, once in 2018 and then by section hiking it over the last four years. Here’s the whole story on why I’m doing my hike the way I’m doing it this year: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6iXfqOJab2fZ8U
