Just a little tip for your water filtration setup. I us the same filter and found the bag way too small and not top quality at all. So I now use a Cnoc Vector water filter bag and fits on the filter end perfectly and is much better quality. I highly recommend it.

Very cool. By the way any cheap water bottle works on the Sawyer filter so collect a few cheap water bottles and keep a small one (marked dirty) for using with the filter. They weigh almost nothing when empty anyway, and then you can keep the roll-up one in case you break or loose a water bottle. Thanks for sharing the Gas bottle story I probably would have done the same... Maybe if you aren't sure if you can get it where you are going - if traveling abroad - you can take an alcohol stove instead. I don't think it's a problem to take it as long as its in the stored hold rather than as carry on luggage (and in a proper container) can't be worse than all the booze people take can it! When the weather is better next spring go down to Dartmoor for a week, I think you'll also like that. Maybe hike the ten tors.

ALWAYS good to touch base with your work! SURVIVAL LILLY is an AWESOME icon in our 'Bushcraft' video fan base...but your INCREASING LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT; your channel and its content and commentary continue to lift your work to a finer level. Thanks for the honest review of the tent! As a man whose wife loved to backpack in a family setting, I cheerfully admit that 'close is cozy' Classic American writers from the Golden Era of Woodcraft often mention that all-male hunting parties expected to 'spoon' together in deep cold to produce a comfortable night's rest. From a strictly survival standpoint, one benefits from not being particularly 'tender' about what sex the shared warmth comes from. Wet shoes: YES! Any seaside wading benefits from 'interlopers' wearing protective footwear. Fishy 'spine' fish that in some areas, bury themselves just below the surface of the sand can ruin even the most informed seaside holidays. Thanks for the idea for a modesty-saving potty shelter! I have never seen that tip and I can instantly understand that it works so well!

Hey Becky does the vango banshee have mesh doors ( iv found a few vango tents named after scottish landmarks seem to be missing a bit of mesh on the doors ) nice to see outside when the midgies want to eat you alive one tip on boots Becky backpacking boots have a forgiving sandwich of flexi rubber between the sole and foot to help with the load . Walking and military boots just dont have ..and will be harder on your footsies , just a thought not many people give much thought to once they have walking boots , they arent load bearing like backpacking boots , all the best Becky

A pretty interesting video about the equipment you brought, when I sit and watch it, it seems very well thought out and a lot of experience has been put into the election, it's not any miss anyone here. Scotland itself hiking trip sounds tremendously exciting, so now my patience hangs in a thin thread again. You have a bad ability for your subscribers to sit at the computer and wait. 😁👍 Just watched Mr and Mrs Bushwacker's video from Scotland, it's so beautiful up there, especially the mountain scenery and the wide open countryside.

Your ability to cope with the gas cylinder/flight rules regulations is a fine example of 'level-headed' thinking. In a way, it also proves my feeling that having 'extra funds' can smooth out that type of wrinkle. We also learned about 'wet wipes' from our flying experiences. They are 'champion' for cleaning tasks. BEN NEVIS! DO IT while you are still in elite athlete trim!

That would of been so annoying about the tent poles. Yea I had to use black tape to fix mine when it cracked. Yea it is annoying with no wood for a fire. When I was in Orkney I just made a fire with dead weeds. There was no trees anywhere haha. It did not last for long cause I needed to keep refuelling it on the beach in the cold and was using dead grass from the moors. I think it only lasted for about 10 minutes and I was too late getting back with more dead grass. I mean to get a fire going you would need a lot of it in bags

Nice and well thought out of the gears. You said you wanted a good waterproof tent. Have you looked at the Hilleberg brand? There are probably the best tents on the market, both with the water pillar and sturdiness. I have a small Hilleberg Akto 1 person tent that I have been using for all year around with out any problem here in Sweden. The bathtub floor in all Hilleberg is 10000 mm of water colum or more, and the fly sheet is 5000. I recommend you to check them out, Hilleberg.com Like the video and keep on doing them. Xo Peter

Awesome!!!!!!! Good morninh Becky!!! Great load out. I would interested in seeing your tent repair job. I use gorllia brand duct tape (the smaller roll) just because its better and more flammable. I keep some rapped around my trekking poles and in my repair kit. The stove looks really stable compared to the normal ones. Really you had such had awesome time and truly enjoyed it. So many times we open forget to "stop n smell the roses". Great use for a poncho. Im truly looking foward to any reviews and Scotland footage. Check out Luke from OutDoor Gear Review for some unbiased recommendations and reviews, Becky. I really enjoyed your Scotland trip videos -- as well as many of your others. I subscribed ! Good luck and I hope you have many more adventures and I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing them ! -- Alan, USA Edit: Regarding the Sawyer Filter Bags -- I agree. They can be a problem in the cold or when they are even 'abused' a tiny bit. The good thing is though, the water filter uses an industry standard threading, so you can screw them onto pretty-much any 1-2 liter beverage bottle (Water, Soft-Drink, etc.). Try before you go, but that means that you can always use an ordinary empty water/soda/pop bottle that you can pick up anywhere. Just remember to keep track of which 'bottle' is clean and which was used for 'dirty' water. Kudo's to pointing out how to properly fill your canteen or drinking container from filtered water -- don't let any drops of 'dirty' water contaminate your clean water. For this reason, ALWAYS use separate containers for clean (potable) and dirty (non-potable) water until you're back home and can sanitize both. In the field, never, Ever, EVAR drink from a container that was used for 'dirty' water ! God Bless, Becky & Happy Trails.
