I think you got the wrong idea of what bushcraft really is. Its about taking as little as possible and using nature as much as possible.

great video but the Uk has to be one of the worst countries in the world to do anything outdoors !! the rain hasn't stopped for nearly a year . Nightmare . i enjoy the occasional rain storm but dear god, the way it is now literally puts the damper on everything !!

I recently moved up to Northern Maine very near the Canadian border. I agree with you about getting out in the bush and unplugging from job( work 40 hours and only canoe/camp/fish for 6 hours this week-gotta work on those numbers!), trappings of town etc. There is lots of it up here, truck camping/overlanding opportunities are abundant if you are willing to go out there into the wilderness(not many do). it really is some of the only remaining wilderness in the Eastern US (3.5million acres). I went out in my canoe a few times up here so far. It is beauteous(one overnighter before the bugs came out) ! I have seen many moose already, including a baby/calf moose, and a cow moose let me get with in 50 yards of her on a pond this past weekend. I was paddling my boat very still and she was eating vegetation along the edge . I might have seen the same cow moose the day before eat a remote boat launch on the lake just above the pond where I was at on Sunday (Fish Lake and The Fish River) There are remote primitive campsites out there that can be reached by boat or Truck. Some of them even have 'privy'! all of them have a fire ring, picnic table and some have poles to hang a tarp over. Look up northmainewoods.org. I finally got my season pass from them, unlimited day use and overnight camping through Sept. 30th!!! I've wanted to do this for a long time. Made a big change and moved up here. it's like a different world and even country up here. very remote. There is some poverty and blight, and not much economy, but the people are very friendly the forest, rivers lakes and ponds are vast for this part of the eastern US. Sorry for being long winded , I enjoy your videos very much and you have been an inspiration , Thank You! Here's to summer 2024!

Roof tent and money: you could opt for the tent and use the money you would have spent on Canada. Later this summer, you could feature British camping using the roof tent.

Hi Becky! This technique of cooking with charcoal fire, in southern Brazil, we do "churrasco". And the way you put the meat interspersed with peppers, it's a type of barbecue called "Xixo Gaúcho". But we roast it with more than one type of meat, onions and tomatoes. It's delicious!😋

I have the Ox Overland Diesel roof tent and the quality on it as absolutely superb, really can't fault the tent whatsoever. But a downside for this _style_ of tent is that it hangs over the vehicle with a ladder coming down permanently as part of the setup. It works totally fine, but I think it restricts where you can realistically deploy it in wild camp scenarios. It attracts a lot of attention and if it is extending passed your vehicle I feel like it could be considered more objectionable if someone comes upon you. Where as, on the other hand, a tent which only takes the footprint of your roof, so is within the confines of your vehicle, is not a lot different from sleeping _in_ the vehicle. Ideally I'd love one where you pop the roof and the whole roof goes up. That's the perfect setup. But they are _very_ expensive.

Great videos Becky, we really enjoy watching. One question is it safe to cook with coal rather than charcoal ?. Doesn't coal release harmful chemicals into the food.

Great videos! With regards to Percy playing up. I would strongly recommend, that you find a diesel specialist. I own a 24 year old diesel campervan. It is always the electric sensors that cause problems. Best advice is to take your time and find an independent diesel specialist garage who have all the old diagnostic computers. These garages can be expensive, but worth it! Just remember most diesel engines have over 100 sensors, so it can be trying to find a needle in a haystack!! Keep those videos coming!
