I'm with you on those uphills. I used to have a fitbit that tracked "flights", and mine were always less than my hiking partner's because I stopped on the climbs and she didn't. Went back to my old school timex and no longer concerned about having one more mentally defeating device to stare at! Good water trumps stank water any day! That descent was definitely dicey! That had to be the big climb my friend Kiosk was referring to when she said counter clockwise is better than that big climb clockwise. Good call getting a swim in! You'll never regret that life choice on a hot day! Glad you got your tent setup before the storm rolled in! Great video IB! 🎉

Great adventure IceBear! I can imagine the bugs and heat and how fresh the water was. I hope it wasn't too cold- over here the water would be freezing. Pretty camping spot right by the water... thank goodness you were all set before the rain came!! I would love to see tons of frogs and toads... over here I might see one on a whole hike... probably because there's not so much standing water around... or else because it's so darn brushy. lol. I like the way you check for snakes... if it was me I would be super cautious in that rocky area!! I got some camping in this summer, but not much backpacking- fun to join you, thanks!! :) Cheers, Jen :)

Most snake bites can be avoided if we just pay attention to where we're putting our feet. Tapping with a trekking pole sends a vibration across the surface that they can feel, letting them know that something is coming. If I was sunning myself and enjoying a nap, I wouldn't want some giant coming along and stepping on me or kicking me- so I try not to be that obnoxious giant to them. I'm the visitor in their home. I hope you're having a great week! 😃💚👊

Awesome view @16:00! As to whether or not trees feel pain when you step on their roots......all I can say is if they do then I have caused alot of trees alot of pain over the years,lol. Good camp spot right before the storm.
