Finally got round to doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and being from Yorkshire it needed to be done! I decided to bring my wild camping gear along and do a wild camp.
The peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough are known collectively as the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The route is 24 miles (38.6km) long and involves 5000 ft (1600 metres) of vertical ascent.
👊🏽 Thanks for watching, please like, comment & subscribe.

Hey! Gutted you didn’t have better weather so you had the views but still beautiful in its own way! Mind you I’d rather it be a bit wet than roasting alive in the sun to be fair! Watching you is exhausting me! 🤣😂🤣 Beautiful viaduct and such a stunning area! So gutted you did all those climbs and didn’t get the views! I was worried when you slipped coming down that last peak! 😨 Weird rock formations! I’ve never seen anything like those before. What a challenge, well done!!! 🥰

Another Great video Liam, Yes, I've actually done the Yorkshire 3 Peaks 5 time over a 30 year span. Fortunate to do it a couple of times in superb sunny and clear conditions but also completed in weather like you've just expeirenced. Quickest time was just under 8 hours with a couple of mates who really went for it, Damn near nearly killed me. Longest time was 13 hours with a group of friends who were stopping for a breather every 5 minutes !! The other 3 times all round about 9 - 10 hours. The route used to cross Black Dub Moss which was often and absolute swamp. It now follows a large chunk of the Penneine Way between Pen y Ghent and Ribblehead. I've seen many people up to their neas crossing The Moss.

Done the route a few times. First time was quite mild but the sun was out with clouds. The second time was in August and it was 32 degrees and punishingly hot. It's a great hike, that stone path at the very start of Pen Y Ghent at the farm is a relatively recent addition, it used to just be a track. It's also the part most people find the hardest, straight out of the gate it's a bit of a punishing climb. On a nice sunny day with a breeze it's a glorious hike.

I thought going up whernside was a walk in the park maybe it’s because you had already racked up the miles but agree with you on coming down it was a killer 🤣 then a trek back to car I parked were the ice cream van was 😃

Had the same conditions on the National Three Peaks Challenge. Huge effort with crap views! But as you say once you've booked the time you've just got to get it done.

Hi Liam great effort I know it’s like walking a marathon and climbing Nevis in a day but what are some of the breakdowns ? So I know u park in Horton in ribbledale Car to penny gent miles ? Penny to whernside 10 miles Whernside -inglebrough miles? Ingle-car miles ? I’ve recently done whernside twice and even though I’ve done the Ben last year I don’t think I’ve got 2 peaks in me at the moment but trying to get my head round it 😂

I reckon this will grow into a channel with sizeable subs. The chap is naturally so engaging and funny, in a way that isn't 'try hard to be funny' like so many other muppets. I bet he is great to have a pint with. Good content, also. It's a bloody shame he looks like a young Harold Shipman though.

Yes, I have done the full round twice. Both were the challenge of completing it inside 12hrs, so you need to do it again! There is a time card clock in the Horton cafe (at least there used to be). I did it last time with a bunch of school kids.

Loved this! Nice work! Shame about the visibility, it was gritty. I've done 2 of these casually over 2 days camping. Definitely need to complete the 3 in 1 sometime soon. Thanks for the Inspiration :)
