Really nice video. I have been fortunate to go on that hike.

Thank you for posting this. I've been hiking that region since 1987. The log your girl walks on, going down into Pratt, was put there to block the original trail, which was too hard to keep up. I take it every time because it shaves a lot of time off the hike (straight down). Around the right side of lower Tuscohatchie is a cold spring, very good water. Thanks a bunch!!

My god I didn’t realize there were so many KZbin’s my old favorite places. I remember being in my early teens doing these hike and not seeing one person for literally days. I really hope there’s not lines of people waiting to take pictures of flowers. Unfortunately I fear the escape from the city is now over run by herds of people doing these easy hikes. I guess the old mountaineers club was a success in getting people out of the city and up into the backcountry. I haven’t been on a decent hike in almost 20 years now and am about to do this very hike with my son for the first time. I guess if we get to the trail head a 3am we will be ok. Sorry to wake you lol.

Oh my that looks so beautiful. The trail from Olallie to Pratt looks so fun. We are looking maybe to get up there this week but may do a simple as Jaylene has been on the DL for a hip injury. That is just amazing back there. Nothing better than really getting in the back country like that. Did you mark the campsites by chance? Thanks for the mention too.

I forgot to mention, there is my GPS track. I stopped recording once we reached Tuscohatchie, but if you look at the two pins on the shore, you will see that's where we camped. I would say the better camp spots are along the north shore. And thank you for drawing our attention to Olallie :) Here's the GPS track: www.gaiagps.com/public/GgbwBA2wgq7XzKduYpvZ8JBh

Patrick Caple Hi Patrick. A couple of remarks now that are leaning to mocking. Do we have a problem?
@NoTrail8 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you do if you take a simple joke as mocking. I have a tendency to be sarcastic and mean nothing by it...can't help myself. So no...I have no problem. Carry on.

Not at all. I thought that was what but you never know. Or I have had some interesting folks in the past. I welcome a good jab so keep them coming. Sorry I was sensitive

Wow such a beautiful hike! Man I would love to camp at that lake. I like that you showed the names of some of the vegetation that you came across too. Stunning.

What app is that you're using? Are campfire permitted at Lower Tuscohatchie?
@OutsideAndStuff7 жыл бұрын
I'm using Gaia GPS for iPhone. Been using it for a few years now and it's saved my bacon on more than one occasion. I don't believe campfires are allowed as it's in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

6:03 what app is this? (Gaia GPS for iPhone) I was looking for something similar for Android, was looking into Map My Hike. I would love to hear any recommendations. Will be camping up by Pratt Lake this weekend.
@OutsideAndStuff6 жыл бұрын
There is Gaia for Android. But I am an iOS user so it's hard for me to recommend an Android app I can relate to.

Awesome video, felt as if I am there! I am planning to backpacking there and stay overnight do I need to carry bear spray or should be aware of anything specific.
@OutsideAndStuff7 жыл бұрын
We never carry bear spray in the Alpine Lakes, but we have seen signs of bear activity, so carry it if it makes you feel more comfortable. As far as things to be aware of, all the campsites for Pratt are on the far end of the lake. So when you first see the lake, you still have about an hour of hiking down and around the lake to get to the sites. :)

Hahaha. That's awesome. Good luck at Pratt! :)

You're not a pronoun....you're a goober. Tuscohatchie...that name sounds out of place. You're friends are goobers as well...I know...cuz I sure am one also. I wonder what happens in part 2?
