The only problem with your videos is that I add more and more places to my bucket list! Maybe a video on how to choose where to go, like "prioritize the must travel places" would be nice. Love this

Cave stream was one of the most scary but fun experiences I had in NZ! Would recommend to everyone, though you must check the rain fall on the other side of the island because it causes the water level in the cave to rise.

If you end up passing through Hamilton on your way South from Auckland I would recommend checking out the Hamilton Gardens. It's always been rated as one of the best man-made gardens in the world. Was voted #1 in 2014. There's nothing really else in Hamilton but it's a great central hub to stay if you want to visit the likes of Rotorua, Raglan, Waitomo etc. And I know this because I live in Hamilton.

Haha I live on Waiheke, I'd definitely recommend visiting, since a lot of the natural environment is still the same as it was a few hundred years ago! The culture is so rich, and the marae (Piritahi Marae) is one of the most sophisticated in the world. There's something for everyone here, so don't count it out!

I enjoyed your video, new subscriber today. As a Fiordland local, I would recommend staying in Te Anau (or nextdoor Manapouri), and doing your Milford Sound trip from there. The drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound is unnecessarily long and tiring, whereas a day trip starting from Te Anau (or Manapouri) is way shorter and so much more enjoyable.

Brilliant Thankyou! At the very earliest stages of planning for a trip next autumn and I love the advice of doing a part well and accepting that you can go back for the rest another time, rather than frantically trying to fit it all in 🤯🤯😝

Christchurch- “Other than that I recommend keeping your stay to a minimum, unless you need to be there for some other reason” 😂 like being one of those unfortunate souls that have to live there 👍 BTW there is this really beautiful spot in Mt Aspiring called the Blue Pools that I have recently discovered and am planning a road trip to go and enjoy, it looks amazing and otherworldly 😊

Born and bred in Rotorua NZ, we thrive on customer service due to our culture, you not mentioned once the main reason as to why tourist come to Rotorua, it is for the cultural feeling of New Zealands, Maori Kapa Haka, Hangi and Concerts, Whakarewarewa Institute, aka Te Puia, Waimangu Geysers and more.

I can't not say anything 😂 she basically said Christchurch don't bother! There are some great spots to visit, late spring through early autumn best times to visit. Start by parking at the botanic gardens for a lovely walk into the central city, explore post quake development. .still under development. Wander along the river and enjoy some great local cafes. Rollickin Gelato has excellent ice cream. Or head to Utopia ice in the seaside suburb of Sumner, walk along the beach or drive over the hill to Taylors Mistake for the views and a walk.. tip avoid busy summer weekends. Lytle ton Harbour is worth a visit for the views and cafes such as Glamour cakes gourmet donuts. Continue around to Corsair Bay for a gorgeous walk and swim.. again avoid weekends over summer to avoid crowds. Continue driving around Goveners Bay to Allendale Reserve for an easy picturesque walk along the coastline. And of course popular with locals and tourists Akaroa Harbour and Hanmer Springs. There and back within a day or stay overnight they are both worth a visit. Just avoid weekends or go in off season if you don't like bustling tourist villages. And that's just a start 😆

Don't bother with Queenstown or Wanaka unless you're keen on skiing or tramping for 5-day trips out of town. It's an unspectacular overpriced shopping mall. The Port Hills above Christchurch are a good route through to Banks Peninsula where there's plenty of pretty coastline and some walks.

"En ga wa Springs!" I know you apologised beforehand but I really expected at least a half-arsed attempt at "Na far." :-D As for the rest - next time I suggest the coastline north of Whangarei and the East Coast around Ruatoria, Tikitiki where the locals are warm, hospitable and real.

Never forget to set aside a day visiting the live White Island Volcano in the town of Whakatane. Those who want to have close contact with the Maori culture can opt for the city of Rotorua. One hours drive south of Rotorua lies Taupo. With a beautiful lake, thermal volcanic areas, and a fantastic view of the Alps this area has the beauty that impresses. Spend a day at the Tongariro National Park or at the sky fields. Having a gorgeous bay is the capital city of New Zealand - Wellington. It is the second biggest city with top-level restaurants.

I am lucky enough to have been there twice so visited lots of the surrounding area which was just stunning. But have traveled round the South Island as well. I have to agree with you I loved Kiakora. Abel Tasman was stunning. I also really like lake tekapu. (You never mentioned it.) I have visited most of the places you mentioned around queens town. Arrowtown was a nice wee place. We stopped there for an hour or so! So many stunning places to visit!

You've got to go to Stewart Island. It's amazing! We even saw a Kiwi in it's natural habitat, swam at three bays, enjoyed the laid back and relaxing environment. Auckland sux....I live there now lol, but you have to get out of Auckland to experience the real NZ & it’s natural beauty....(you won’t find it at the sky-tower), no other place like it in the world & ive travelled everywhere.....it does rain a lot but that rain is what makes that place as green as it is, and summer is decievingly hot......without the climate it has it would be a dessert.....so I’ve learnt not to complain about the rain anymore cause without it we wouldn’t have those picturesque views.....

Yep, if camping it's necessary to have a big backpack in order to fit the tent and sleeping bag! I don't think mine was over 15KG though. It's fine as long as you have a backpack that supports the weight on your hips :)
