Yeah but you compensate it economically. Try saving to travel abroad in a country where the average wage is (with the conversion) 300USD.
@littlebuglex3 жыл бұрын
@@lourlopezsk sure maybe we make more, but also cost of living here is much higher so it pretty much cancels out. A huge percentage of Americans are stuck in minimum wage jobs offering no benefits and no healthcare. Federal minimum wage is $7.25/ hr. That’s roughly $850/ month after taxes, which is barely enough, to rent a one bedroom apartment in most places. Factor in monthly bills and groceries as well as possible healthcare costs and most people have next nothing left at the end of the month to save.

@@notyou6336 oh my very first backpacking trip was super stressful, too. I had my backpack ready to go a month before I was supposed to leave 🙃 now I pack maybe an hour before I need to go. If you want some tips, take way less than you think you need. All the youtubers massively overpack. If you are able to, take all your planned luggage on a short weekend trip and see how you handle it (carrying, what you think you definitely won't need, what you forgot)

I've been putting off travelling to wait for australias borders to open back up and go over on a whv but that's not happening for at least six months so decided I'm going to head off around Europe for the next six months instead until borders open up. leaving in a month and just handed in my notice for my jobs, about to book my one way flight to Greece! this is literally all thanks to you, found your channel about 4 years ago and you were my introduction into backpacking and whv etc, my life would've been so different had it not been for this channel (probably would've gone to uni etc) and I really will forever be beyond grateful for that! ❤️

Thanks! I think this is what I need. I'm not starting my new job until august, and I have plenty of time (and money) to travel. First day of planning: I'm thinking of Portugal and Spain because of the language, culture and cities. However I also want to scuba dive, and keeping my budget down if I can. In that case Indonesia would be a great choice. Now I'm stuck between the two but I think writing all of my thoughts down will help me. I'm going to start with the questions and then follow your video step by step. Edit: Okay, two days later and I've figured out that Europe is too expensive for the things I want to do. Indonesia it is! I just ordered my backpack! :D Edit 2: You know what, this summer aint the one. Weddings and grad parties... and deciding where to go within a month, when my gut tells me something's not right. Nope, I'll wait and save the money. This summer = relax and have fun at home.
