I mostly motorcycle camp. 70 yo.... I just did my first hammock camp for 12 days.... Loved it.... The learning curve is so true... I discovered the bending of my legs for comfort.... Worked great. After backroads riding sometimes my lower legs/ankles are a little puffy because of riding so much.... The hammock relieved this perfectly as opposed to a tent and pad..... Thanks for a great video....

Here in SE Louisiana the high ambient Temps have been 95 - 100° and add another 8 - 10° heat index so I haven't been hanging in my Onewind. But I'm looking forward to September/October (or a major downpour).

Great tips! I have several hammocks from Dream Hammock and they are very comfortable. I agree with a hammock rejuvenating you after a long hiking day. A big difference from sleeping on the ground. I toss and turn on the ground but in a hammock I just sleep through the night.

@BackpackingWithaHammock you're most welcome! Thank you for you help. I have a blood disease and have blood clots in my legs so my circulation sucks. So laying in my hammock keeps my legs elevated above my heart! So it's so good for me . After work everyday, I lay in my hammock for a few hours and it helps me tremendously. But. I am a side sleeper, so I've struggled to sleep in it. .. but hopefully after your tips, it may help accomplish that. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First and foremost, Thank you for your service!!! Secondly, I've had a hammock now for about 3 years and had no idea there were adjustable ridgelines, I knew about the whoopie sling for suspension, but didn't know they used them for ridgelines. I'm definitely getting one of those. I sleep very well in my hammock, but always feel like I need just a bit more sag. That will help considerably I think!!! Hey Matine I watched an earlier video of yours and you mentioned how your ridge line stays the same attached to the hammock and keeps your hammock at the 30 degree angel. In this video does that include the adjustable ridge line? Can u point me to another one of your videos so my ridge line keep me at the 30 degree angle. Thanks for you videos keep them going👍🏜️
@AdventureswiththeMarine
@AdventureswiththeMarine 5 ай бұрын
The 30° angle is for the hammock suspension for a hammock without a ridgeline. The ridgeline will give you the same sag in your hammock. No matter the angle of the suspension. Most ridgelines are fixed. But with a adjustable ridgeline. You can adjust the sag to your liking. I did a video on ridgeline that explains this better. Thank you Darrylweartpipingancamping for watching. I really appreciate it.

Good info marine! Really enjoy watching your videos for the informative instructions you provide. I’ve been wanting to try an Asymmetrical lay hammock but If I do I would be looking for a bug net and a double layer bottom so I could eliminate the under quilt for the majority of the year here in Texas. I was planning on sliding something like “reflectix” or even a inflatable mat between the layers to help with mosquitoes and wind. Any suggestion on where to look for such an animal?
@AdventureswiththeMarine
@AdventureswiththeMarine Жыл бұрын
Now remember that it is the shape of the bug net that makes the hammock asymmetrical. But then again. When you lie asymmetrical in the hammock. That also gives the shape. The two companies that cut there bug net either straight or asymmetrical is Dream Hammock and Dutchware Gear. And both, you can get a double layer. I know that Danny at Superior Gear is in the process of a asymmetrical bug net. But I don't believe he has one out yet. He dose have the hammock that I used in this video called the Starlite. It is a double layer. And also has that adjustable ridgeline and other cool things. I will be doing a review on it in two weeks. Thank you Doctoordan for watching. I really appreciate it.

People that have sleep apnea have told me that with their upper body up. It helps stop the snoring that wakes them up. My daughter, who suffers from sleep apnea will sometime sleep in a recliner. And says that helps. Now by having the head end up ( like a recliner ) my help. I am no expert on the subject. Just trying to think logical. Thank you Ken for watching. I really appreciate it.
