-----------------------------------
I first got intrigued with magic and playing cards after seeing a friend do some back palm card vanishes back in 8th grade. To this day this is one if my favorite things to do with a card. When done properly it should look like you just throw the card in the air and it just vanishes. A few seconds later you reach out and pluck it out of thin air. This is the wonderful art of card manipulation.

@trinidad17

@@pigsarecute5681 When learning this I did it constantly when I had a card around to gain muscle memory. You not only bend the card but totally destroy it in a couple of days, mine were all soft and those dark borders basically took all over the card lol. Here there are some sellers that do gaff decks which sell ad cards in bulk, I use that for this kind of thing.

This is a little difficult to do, but I have been doing it over 50 years now. I started doing it when just 5 years old. It gets to be very natural after a year or two of good practice. No one can figure it out if done well. Keep practicing and do it all day constantly and it becomes so easy and natural.

Hey, from one old magician to another ;) Glad to see your post as I was wondering if I was gonna be too old and fat to do this lol. Im 45 and not too bad with some sleights but I suck at this. Like he said, I guess the position will different everyone right? I just got to find mine, I guess.
@6977warrior1
@6977warrior1 5 жыл бұрын
Well, being fat could help as you don' really want skinny fingers. Thick fingers hide the cards well. Never too old to learn something like this. It's good to have flexible fingers and keep some cards in your hands all day long and practice and it will become very natural.

This move is a piece of cake once you learn multiple card production! I learned everything I could about back palming, it was so amazing to me to make cards appear and disappear... This move requires a lot of practice! I practiced non-stop for about 6 hours to produce 3 cards... and then I added more and more cards! I can go up to 25 cards so far!

Backpalm to front palm next? You do this move properly, so the back palm to front palm while keeping it "invisible" to your audience seems like a logical next step. All the productions come later, but IMO this is one of your best tutorials. NOT an easy move at all - but Like you, always been one of my favorite things to do with a playing card. I swear that McBride mask routine still gets me to this day. He is the master of card manipulation. I highly recommend everyone check out Jeff McBride if you've never heard of him (which should be a crime if you're into magic BTW!). Happy Holidays Asad and Bravo!

With effort I can hold the card at the proximal phalanx of my pinky finger, so unless your pinkies are smaller than that I'm certain you can do it. This is like stretching, in some sense literally is stretching, so the more you train the more flexibility and control you have.

It takes some serious practice and determination. It took two days before I could do the backpalm, however I was able to do the producing part the first time. I'm going on 6 months since I first started learning magic and able to do some convincing slights and tricks, but that's because repetition and once you get to the point you wanna just give up you do it more. Their are some moves that still frazzle me though, but what can I expect after some of the hand injuries I've had. They work, the fingers just don't all have feeling making some things a little harder.

I've known how to do this for years but in spite of endless practice I've never been able to master it so that I can reliably and consistently get the card into position without bits of the corners showing between my fingers. If I try to get those corners completely hidden I just seem to lose grip and the card pings out behind my hand - or one of the corners does. Also, I've never been able to do it without making an audible snapping sound with the card, which spoils the effect. I'm always massively impressed by people who can do it properly.

Jacob P i can do this trick pretty good i would say, and i have skinny fingers as well. because you palm the card theres no light on the card if you know what i mean, only shadow. so people cant see it even though you have tiny spaces in between your fingers

This is sorcery I tell you D: I can do it in the slowmo version, which feels kinda amusing for myself at least, but doing it at that speed is pretty mad! Also towards the end when he just spam vanishes and produces it in different ways looks awesome even when I know how it works :p

Try eating lots of potato chips, your fingers will eventually fatten up.

During the months it takes to make this fast, you can still perform the trick slowly by covering it with your other hand. Still an impressive effect.

I love doing this trick, only thing different for me is when the card is behind the palm I still have gaps between my fingers because that's how they are even when they're tight together. However, I just continue to keep waving my hand for 3 times then make it re-appear.

Hey Asad! Love your vids! Quick question to back-palming: when i got the card backpalmed, is there a way to let the card at the back of my hand disappear? What else can you do except letting the card reappear? Thanks!

I just tried this out and practiced it for a couple minutes before trying it on my roommate. Was nervous because I wasn't sure if I could do it fast enough to make it look good. But when I went for it, she said that I made it look like it disappeared! Yay! Now I am on the path to being a magician. :D
