Really really great video (along with part 1). This area is so beautiful and looks so exotic to a Pacific Northwesterner - we just have nothing that even comes close to this kind of terrain. Your videos are superb, you really capture the scenery nicely, as well as the details of the roads and obstacles, and they just flow so well. Glad I found your channel!

Thanks I really appreciate those that! I agree I feel super lucky to live here. We have some really incredible diverse country to explore here in Utah from the high mountains to the red rock desert. Thanks for watching!

Nice trails, love your videos!!! I have a 4 runner sr5, do I need off road tires for these kind of trails? I just have all season tires.
@BackroadExploration6 жыл бұрын
A good All-Terrain is always going to be better than your stock tires. But you will be amazed at where your stock tires can take you. I would go on a few trips and let the vehicle tell you what it needs. Often people spend a ton of money before knowing what they really need. Take it slow and each adventure you will learn what you need and what you can do without.

Hey have you guys done the Diff breather relocation yet? If you have not you might want to consider that especially if you plan on any water crossing deeper that what you did in this video. Good luck out there it looks like a good time.
@BackroadExploration7 жыл бұрын
mykalbee We haven’t yet. No good reason we just need too. I like to stop before crossing and cool down but the breather is a must need upgrade that we both need to do.

Question for you. When you exited State Route 95 onto Poison Spring Road, in a short distance the road separates again. The right turn is BLM route 15000 and the straight route is Poison Spring Wash Road down the river wash. The two routes eventually rejoin together about half way to the Dirty Devil Crosing. My questio is when entering did you turn right onto BLM 15000 or continue straight and down the river wash? Thanks
@BackroadExploration3 жыл бұрын
We stayed straight. Which takes you by Butler Wash.

We are planning on taking Poison Springs in to the Maze this September. Just wondering if you drove the wash all the way from the 95 or did you take BLM 15000 that then connects in to Poison Springs at Butler Wash?
@BackroadExploration6 жыл бұрын
We took it all the way from 95. However looking at the map I think both would work just fine.

Cool Video. How do you guys manage with your fuel?? Do you keep extra in the back?? I know my 4runner is not that great on gas. Thanks
@BackroadExploration7 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Pics We can carry extra fuel with some flat Rotopax fuel containers. However we didn’t bring any extra fuel this trip. We typically map out our route before heading out and then decide to if we need extra fuel. In the case here we had to pass through Hanksville Utah at the end of Part 1 so we refueled there.

nice video!! What tire pressure are you running?
@BackroadExploration7 жыл бұрын
elmersvideos I’m certainly not an expert on tire pressures, so take that into account. I normally run around 20 unless it is really rough then I’ll drop to 14 or so. That’s in the Land Cruiser I’ll have to check with mike to see what he runs in the 4Runner. What do you normally do?
@elmersvideos7 жыл бұрын
Lol, I'm not good at airing down... as in, I'm lazy and typically don't, sometimes because I'm lazy, but also because I have no idea how low to go. 😊
@BackroadExploration7 жыл бұрын
+elmersvideos Amen to that. Honestly I’ve driven 100 Of Miles without airing down without wishing I had. I like to stick around half normal driving PSI. However I know people go much lower at times especially if they are running bead locks. Because we are not doing aggressive off roading I typically do it to help increase ride comfort on trips where I will be off-road for more than a few hours. I’m open to all suggestions and corrections on the subject 🙂
@elmersvideos7 жыл бұрын
yeah, i do the same. I need to get into the habit of doing it.

I'm kind of surprised that the government cop asked for your "papers" and discouraged you from proceeding on a planned route. It's none of his business as long as you weren't actually camping.. Maybe a sign that you are entering a restricted area at the park boundary would have been appropriate. How dare you travel the kings highways without permission.What he was really saying is "we don't want you here".....that's it ......I'm done with my rant......love your videos. Keep on keeping on.
@BackroadExploration6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree we thought it was super odd. Afterwards I did some research and the rangers in that section if the park have a terrible reputation for their attitudes and overall you should not be here mentality.
