@karenshields19742 жыл бұрын
Are you telling me to, "watch it"? If you are thats very stupid. Diana had a lot of affairs there was no innocent party in that marriage. Charles loved Camilla a long time before he was married to Diana. He was forbidden to marry her as she had been married b4. A divorcee with children was out of the question as the future king had to marry a virgin. Charles stopped this for his own children. So a 19 year old Virgin, lady Diana Spencer got the job. Unfortunately she suffered from mental health issues and the rest is history, as they say. She also admitted to cheating 1st! The crash was a tragedy that should never happened. The marriage should never have been arranged.
@ruthkletke2 жыл бұрын
@@karenshields1974 Nope...she did not cheat first. Charles never gave up on Camilla, he got special cufflinks from her the evening before the wedding. He ran to Camilla every chance he got and they would hook up at one of his properties. I don't think Diana had any other mental illness besides depression. She loved Charles but he never was in love with her. She provided the heir and the spare but was trapped. For the sake of the children and monarchy she hung on in the saddest almost intolerable marriage.

Biggest load of me bollocks ever. The Doors movie was supposed to be in that night but the network decided to do an all day/night memorial to Diana. Like who the hell wants to watch anything about the Royal family in Ireland. It's just a pity it wasn't Charles or the Queen, we couldn't be that lucky though. I'm waiting with much enthusiasm to see the outcome of Harry and Meaghan, and of touchy Feely Andy after they made a mockery of the Crown. We all know what happened to Diana, so I wouldn't put it passed them. Can we ever get a year were one of the Royals don't cause a scandal.

Diana was killed on my 30th birthday. I was shocked at how much I cried. I had always felt a great affection for the Princess and the breath of fresh air she brought to the British monarchy...and the world. Her compassion, humility, zeal for life and michevious streak were part of why she was and will remain one of the most beloved people ever. I watched her funeral as I bawled my eyes out. Such a bright light had been snuffed out...the world lost Princess Diana..way too soon.

I went to London for her funeral, with my daughter and some friends. We were there the night before, everyone was really friendly, police were wandering around chatting and making sure everyone was OK. There are several things that I’ll never forget, 1. The beautiful smell of flowers, it was breathtaking. 2. When I saw that the boys were walking behind their mothers coffin it broke hearts, we hadn’t gone to see the boys we had gone to show our support for their mother. 3. The speech Earl Spencer made was bang on point, the Royal family found her acceptable because was a virgin (seriously), Charles because he thought she was a young bit of stuff that would deliver the much needed heir and a spare, and keep her mouth shut. Wrong. It was a few days in September that I’ll never forget. RIP Lady D. Love to Harry too. X

It was awful - that time without any word from TRF before they came back to London. So many Books of Condolences were opened for the public to leave their private words. The flowers were beautiful & unbelievable as to how many. They were strewn all the way up M1 from London back to the gates of her home. The funeral cars had to stop to remove the flowers several times. You could not hear a pin drop it was so quiet. I lived in Northamptonshire, not far from Althorp Park where Dianas body was taken after the service in London. So many tears were cried. The following year Althorp opened an exhibition of Diana's life. It showed cine film footage of when she was a young girl, as well as her wedding dress displayed in a glass case. I will never forget that Day. I went with my 2 daughters, we purchased souvenirs & kept our tickets for that event.

Charles Spencer had his 15 minutes if fame that day, whoever wrote his speech will have been amply rewarded. It is a great pity that it was all rhetoric, this man refused his sister the use of a small cottage on the family estate when she asked him, she said she needed a bolthole from time to time, he disagreed and they had a colossal row. He has made a phenomenal amount of money from Diana’s demise, charging exorbitant amount if money to view the island (which is kept in a very poor state of repair) and some of her gowns which are on display. His pledge to guide and care for her boys was equally cringeworthy, he doesn’t look after the children he has by a multiplicity of wives.

I was greatly moved by the piece sung by the choir at the recessional of the service: ALLELUIA. May flights of angels sing thee to they rest. Remember me O Lord, when you come into your kingdom. Give rest O Lord to your handmaid, who has fallen asleep. The choir of saints have found the well-spring of life, and door of paradise. Life: a shadow and a dream. Weeping at the grave creates the song: Alleluia, Come, enjoy rewards and crowns I have prepared for you. Music by John Tavene and words extracted from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the Orthodox Funeral Service. The piece ends in a great crescendo as the casket reaches the door of the church. It is followed by one minute of silence. I wept tears of grief and inspiration from the entirety of the experience. God rest her soul.

I watched Princess Diana's funeral and bawled just like everyone else! It was heartbreaking to watch her sons walking behind her casket with a stiff upper lip showing no emotion. Originally both boys didn't want to walk but their grandfather, Prince Philip told them if they'd walk he'd walk with them which they agreed to. Due to his age, this was very traumatic for Prince Harry. When he got older that trauma had alot to do with all the partying he did and the antics that went with it and him getting in trouble and scolded by the Queen. For years Prince Harry kept his emotions inside him and it took settling down with Megan for him to finally let all his feeling out. Losing his Mum at such a young age really took a toll on him. Meghan was the driving force for Prince Harry to seek help. Thank goodness she did!

I watched it in Indianapolis, In. As overwhelmingly tragic as the entire ordeal was, The Boy's walking behind her hearse was especially heartbreaking.

agreed so what they doing to her son is cruel

The make members walking behind the hearse us a long standing tradition with royalty, old films showing the funeral of Queen Victoria has all the men walking in procession, likewise the funeral of George VI . I understand that the boys were given the option, and Prince Philip offered his support to them. Sometimes ones place in the hierarchy comes with responsibilities, this was one if those times.

@@carolewilson1311 it’s not cruel. It’s celebrating the person’s life.

I was home recovering from the loss of a second trimester pregnancy. My 18-year-old son was also out of town and no phone back then and his car was broken down so I was terribly worried about that as well. I just remember laying on the sofa and watching her funeral procession If I remember right, to watch it live you had to tune in at night. The days before KZbin.

I watched Diana's funeral. It was extremely sad, and I kept thinking,how could this larger than life figure be gone. I especially felt bad for her youngest son. He looked lost. So glad that he chose to carry on with her work.

I watched her funeral. I cried not only for the loss of her but for her boys. They were made to walk that long distance in mourning. It showed that their feelings were not thought of at the time.

Seriously? It is a time honored Royal tradition, that the family walk behind the hearse, 'the final accompaniment' Please do not question, what you do not know....

I watched the funeral. The word sad doesn’t describe that day. It was beyond believable, and still is today.

Tough month for me. My mom died at the beginning of August, then i had a stroke two weeks later then princess Dianna was killed the last day of the month. I remember watching the funeral and seeing the driver of the car carrying her casket pull over and carefully removed the thrown flowers from the hood of the car and place them on the side of the road so he could see where he was driving. Very sad month for me.

A tough month for you due to your Mother's death and your stroke... I find it quite ridiculous that you would compare the death of a complete stranger to those personal life changing events.

I saw her wedding and funeral and cried in both of them. At the wedding of joy but to some sorrow for what could (and became a tough marriage) at the funeral I saw two little boys behind the coffin of their beloved mammy something that I think many in the world reacted to. She got a nice send-off but the memory of her two sons is never forgotten. Both of these were broadcast live in Norway on Norwegian television

I totally agree with CatLover33, no one will ever convince me either that she wasn’t murdered and that it was set up by the royal family. I have never been a fan of the royal family, I don’t understand what all the hoo-ha is about. I did like Princess Diana though, she seemed like such a sweet lady. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺

I watched her funeral in tears 😥 I never realised how much I cared about her until she died. I loved her for the work she did. She was capable of making such a difference. I will never forget her children walking behind her coffin. Prince Harry was only 12. The little wreath with the word " Mummy" on top of her coffin. It brings tears toy eyes even today.

I too watched Diana's funeral. Sharing the same birthday and understanding what she was feeling more than most, I was sad, but glad that she was finally at peace. No one could interfere with her life anymore, but on the flip side she didn't get to see her boys grow up and they lost their mother too soon. She was a special lady and I think she would very much approve of Duchess Catherine for her first son Prince William. It was a death that should not have happened but it did and we lost someone most everyone around the world admired because of her loving and caring nature for all living things. That is who she was. RIP

I watched Diana’s funeral with lots of sadness. It still doesn’t seem real. She was gone too soon. I hated the way Phillip, Queen Mother & Queen Elizabeth expressed their negative feelings of her when it was Charles’ fault that Diana hurt so bad. It really hurts that Queen Elizabeth has welcomed Camilla as if she never did anything to hurt Diana. Diana never wanted the divorce although it was like getting slapped in the face daily. Diana tried so hard to not let her boys get hurt. Prince William promised his mom that he would give her back her title when he became King. I know he won’t forget. It should never have been removed. One thing wonderful I heard today is Camilla will never be Queen! Ok girl, what goes around comes back around. I am sorry Charles is sick; he has been weak, he has let Camilla control his life. He is guilty for it all! Diana did bless this world in the way God wanted her to. She can never be replaced.

I also watched Diana’s funeral. I watched every aspect of Diana’s life on TV and the magazines that came out about her life in the Royal family. It’s too sad that she couldn’t watch her boys grow up, and see her grandchildren. She would’ve been an excellent grandmother.

I watched Princess Diana's funeral on tv also. I bawled like a baby. I admired her so much. I ached for her boys. I still wonder how different the boys' lives would have been had she lived, especially Prince Harry. She was one in a gazillion. I still tear up when I think of such a spectacular life cut so short.

I remember being a young kid, getting up extra early to watch the royal wedding with my grandmother. She always thought there was something special about Diana and I think that's where my interest began. Broke my heart to get up extra early to watch her funeral service. Just didn't seem real, or fair to her or her young sons.
