Something I like about this series is how you can see the person controlling the camera getting more paranoid over time. You see in this episode he is constantly looking over his shoulder and checking every path. I like it because it gives the character a little bit of, well, character.

The camera work in this persons back room videos leaves a lot to be desired; it’s way too “clean” and feels very artificial. Post processing could use some work too

@@josiahworthington3881 I agree. The main issues I found are in the resolution, the shading that needs more variety (some areas need to be darker) and the motion blur (it's almost not there and for a camera recording in places with sometimes little light, there should be much more of it)

There is a satisfying sense of progression in this video series. In the camera man enters the backrooms. We don't know why he's there, but was greeted with a warning admonishing him for his curiosity. It's a strange place, but nothing inherently off about it. Truth be told, we don't even know how big the building he entered was, but it is unique that he entered a building as opposed to no-clipping out of reality like in the original 4chan post. Again, while the place is odd, there's nothing impossible about the backrooms. It doesn't initially look like an area we couldn't or even wouldn't have built at some point. The writer continues to find more writing by an unknown source. First telling him Do[n't] enter the door and then one with what looks like an attempt to map out the room bemoaning the previous source about there being no door. This implies there's two separate people. But the use of writing on the walls allows for one important thing: the negation of luck. If the protagonist is just wandering around aimlessly, it might eventually come off as contrite that he manages to find exits to these realms time after time, especially since they're, if not outright infinite, are massive. Now there's some arrows pointing him in different directions, and while it does lead to progress, one has to wonder who wrote them. Is it a kind stranger giving warnings to other wayward travelers? Could it even be the realm itslef trying to communicate. Not long later, the camera man encounters the first monster, a strange bald twitching man. He watches the being from behind for several seconds, curious but clearly cautious. It's not until the being bends its head back at an impossible angle and shows its strange face that he begins running, and this is where things change. At the very start of the first video, he calls out once or twice asking if anyone is there. From then on, he's almost totally silent save for breathing. Every time he catches even a glimpse of the creature, he begins running. Hell, sometimes he catches a glimpse so brief that I have to go back a few seconds and pause to get an idea of what he looks like, a bit annoying but on the other hand, someone who's pumped full of adrenaline with only his lizard brain in control ready to kick off the fight or flight response evolution engrained in him isn't going to stop and take in the sights. Our character is not an idiot. The odd thing about the end of the first episode is that he gets caught and then just thrown into the next realm, this time being called the pool rooms. It's even stranger than the first with seemingly endless floors, walls, and ceilings covered in tiles with water and metal bars. Again, it's not impossible to actually exist but it's even less likely that someone would build such a place, at least something human. There's no two exact same locations. Every room and area has some slight variation in its architecture even if all other elements are exactly the same, and it's far more open than the backrooms which is both a blessing and a curse. For a good long while the camera man is actually safe. The trek through the poolrooms is a relaxing walking simulator devoid of danger, allowing the camera man to rest and recuperate. The writing returns with "He didn't make it neither will I" with a doodle of a smiling figure scribbled over and waiting. This, I think, is the writer's friend who accompanied him on the journey. He died in the backrooms and became the first monster the camera man encountered. Hell, the scribbling over could be those black moldy vines seen at the end of the backrooms video. It's important because it means that while our protagonist could potentially die, there may even be fates worse than that in these strange areas. Not long after, the camera man encounters the creature that roams the area, and what I said about him immediately running is certainly true. It's initial appearance was on screen for 16 seconds in a 30fps video before he turned. He descends deeper, getting into areas where the floor is covered in water. A good tension builder as not only is it far nosier, but also far more difficult to run through, and whatever's chasing him is going to hear every step. He manages to again escape a creature and comes across another scrawling on the wall about finding a gap. This means whoever is leading him around has even more knowledge of the areas than before, and might have even came back on themselves after going through the gap themselves in order to write it.
@transhumanistgamer8963
@transhumanistgamer8963 2 жыл бұрын
The ending to the pool rooms ends up especially terrifying with the camera man coming across a shoddy attempt at writing on the floor, "HELP", which trails to a massive bundle of flesh colored vines that are growing everywhere. The main creature of the area flies into the room not too long later, and I suppose the interpretation could be that person turned into the flying thing, but I think it's also possible he just turned into the vines. He became something totally inhuman. In any case, the camera man finds the gap and gets chased into the door leading to the grassrooms. This level offers the most mystery and most story. It has a unique visual design, utilitarian brutalist concrete structures with the floor absolutely coated by grass and flowers. It gives off a post apocalyptic feel and sure enough, there's some mini story about a company/institution called APRF who has evidently caused some calamity. Is it just for the grassrooms or do they have some wider reach. Unlike Async from Kane Pixel's series, almost nothing is known about them save for the fact that they operated in the building and have issued warnings to stay out of certain areas due to biohazards. The building itself is this seemingly impossibly high superstructure, and isn't the only one. The camera man looks out the window multiple time and sees other similar or even exactly the same buildings of different heights. Structures that could house several thousands and yet they are bereft of content inside for most of the first part. Eventually the camera man comes across some writing on the wall of one of the other buildings and when zooming in, sees it saying "behind you." He then looks behind him and sees scribbling warning him of "Entity" and APRF posters claiming to have removed it. Of course, this is impossible. You can't just scrawl all of that on a wall and slap some posters down without the camera man knowing, which is why I think that it could be the realm itself writing to him. Later on he comes across much more well furnished areas, a first for this series. There's escalators, benches, chairs, tables, and designs for the walls strewn about. It actually looks like a place that could have been lived in and abandoned. The opportunity to enjoy this is unfortunately cut short by the appearance of "entity" which he previously saw shambling about in a different building. It could be the same as that one or there's multiple entities for the buildings-either prospect is horrifying. But as he goes deeper into the grassrooms, it becomes more tame in terms of some things and stranger in regards to others. More furnishing and distinct rooms appear, firmly separating it from the vague purpose of the backrooms and poolrooms. There's an office area, there's what looks to be a small garden, and there's several doors lined up in rows as if hotel rooms. But at the same time, the architecture shifts and distorts in ways never seen before. Doors disappear behind the camera man, corridors twist to the point where he's walking on the ceiling. It's like you can't have one without the other. More writing also appears and the obviousness of the omnipresence of the writer is made clearer. There's clear messages about how the entity knows where the camera man is, and in a building of shifting architecture, there's no saying that just because you closed a door and it disappeared behind you means that you're safe. For all you know, a new one might have appeared that lets it shamble over right to where you are. As he ventures on, the illusion of normalcy dies completely as he steps into another garden area with warning from APRF all over its entrence. Inside isn't a statue but instead a complete disregard for gravity as multiple objects and a thick black liquid float calmly in place in the air. There's a lot of equipment, cones and destroyed consoles, hovering about. This room was heavily studied, and chances are the object of study was the door that opens to a whole new room without having anything behind it. We don't know if APRF if tied strictly to the grassrooms or if they'll be a recurring thing. They are in the description, but this is the first time we've seen their presence in the video. Perhaps they screwed up and allowed something into that area, which altered and distorted reality as they knew it as a whole. In any case, there's no chance to dwell on it too long as a new monster appears and it's time for the camera man to run. One thing I like about the series is that the transitions between different rooms is different. From backrooms to poo rooms, you were thrown there by some entity. Poolrooms to grassrooms involve going through a door. Grassrooms to the next area involves running through some hanging vines and letting the fact that the environment alters itself behind you close you off into sometwhere different. And now he finds himself in the most peculiar location. An old living room that when he opens the door, reveals row after row of houses. The architecture for them appears to be exactly the same, but there's nothing strange about them. There's suburbs like this in real life. There's cars and lamps and sky. No more trekking through corridors and walled off areas. For a brief moment in that late afternoon spectacle, it almost seems like the camera man has escaped. He's somewhere back in reality, could get some help, and has footage to prove that the mad ravings of strange architecture and monsters aren't a fiction. The nightmare may finally be over. Yet, as he's looking around, the figure of a woman with her arms behind her back appears. The camera man quietly, cautiously calls out to her and approaches only for her stiff body to fall backwards and her face to be shown to be devoid of details. There is writing on it, "No way out!" Previously the writing seemed helpful. It told the camera man of the entities that roam in the areas and where to do in order to leave them. It gave him advice such as not to look at some entities or that they know where he is. It told him that APRF was responsible for something that had happened. And yet, it began tipping its hand that the author of it isn't a regular human. It's unlikely there's a guy going around with a marker writing it. The thing about this instance is that now it seems malicious. It's actively taunting him. You thought you were free when you saw normal houses and cars? Think again! And that eye motif appears, likely representing the fact that whoever is writing this sees everything. There's nowhere the camera man can go that it wouldn't be able to follow. More and more becomes unraveled, and it's weird to think that whoever is filming this could very well just be some guy.

Well done. Great sound and visual design! My favorite part is when the "room" twists thus forcing the protagonist to walk on the "ceiling". We build rooms with the accessiblity for humans in mind (easy to navigate and functional). The backrooms, however, aren't necessarily designed for humans to walk through them. The choice of an omniscient helper that leaves notes on the wall is a bit strange. Who writes these messages, for whom and why? Is it another survivor who maybe turned insane? That would at least explain why the messages are so cryptic. Keep up the good work!

I just binged the last three parts of this series and I really gotta say that you have my favorite interpretation of the backrooms. I enjoy the short and scary or even funny videos but yours are a different breed. I just love how long they are and how you really get to take the levels (with their own benefits and downsides). Like the grass level feeling all peaceful but eventually incredibly lonely and the constant fear you feel in the poolrooms. You really let the viewer feel constant Paranoia just like your character and I love how they also have a developing fear. With each video they get more scared which is super realistic. I also love that you show how BIG the levels are. Especially the ones you picked are almost infinite and the chance of meeting an entity isn’t high but always there. On another note I really love how your videos look. The lighting and colors are just magnificent and don’t even get me started on the level designs and structures. I just haven’t seen anybody be as creative with it as you. I also think the „person“ writing on the wall is super interesting. Like who are they? Are they helping or are they leading me into a trap? Why is APRF so bad if it’s clearly run by humans? Anyway I hope you get more subscribers soon!!!

I REALLY REALLY like how that one bathroom-like backrooms level warned the traveler of an entity within that level and how the traveler managed to avoid it altogether, turning back during the bridge to see the entity looking at 'em through the window. It gave me those vibes where you just BARELY managed to avoid a serial killer running to your door just a second after you locked it. It's like that one video where you see the seal get on the boat and then see the killer whale fins emerge from the water seconds later before disappearing back into the water(in the same video, you can even see a killer whale just inches under the water, staring at the seal on the boat)

The first large, contained room (not the open area with escalators) reminded me of a cathedral. So gorgeous! This is my favorite one so far. I love how all the cues don't automatically trigger a jumpscare or a pursuit scene. It adds to the believability and atmosphere (the world doesn't revolve around the character). The build up to the exit door that leads to a room that looks like a dark souls boss area was great. It really makes you want to have this series as a game. The concept of the twirling corridor was really cool, and the glitching area that comes next really rose up the atmosphere to the proper degree. I'm looking forward to what comes next, if there's a sequel.

I never comment. but I've been binging backrooms videos and yours is by far the most captivating and eerie. while most backrooms videos i see focus on spaces inside (like inside offices, for example), you finally pull us to the grassrooms and show us what the outside looks like. to me, that's far more terrifying because one's hope for "getting out" of the office and going home is really gone. truly, there's no where to go. secondly, i love your color shemes. the perpetual sunset color, the luscious greenery, and the white and crystal glazing of each building is perfect. prob just an aesthetic taste but i love it. lastly, please continue with the grassrooms or other spaces with outdoors. you seem to captivate "aloneness" better than any other backrooms producer out there. i also like the fact that there is one entity. I think you can make an incredible storyline with this backrooms theme and it can be uniquely "yours," and perhaps even the storyline can be the fact that this entity isn't omniscient and will certainly find you but maybe it has extreme hearing or smell and can find you if you're not careful with your movements. that's all i'll say--you're the artist and i 100% trust whatever it is you do! thank you

You keep producing amazing work. I was looking forward to this next part and it didn't disappoint. The first room with the statue in the centre, and the second room with diminished gravity and floating objects are astonishingly beautiful creations. And I really enjoy how you create and slowly build a tense atmosphere without necessarily having an entity showing up out of the blue and chasing the explorer. The doors disappearing just as the explorer enters a new environment immediately create anxiety. And that moment near the end - how can I say it without spoiling too much? - when the explorer thinks he has found someone... that was very well executed. I'm definitely hooked to this series and I wish it were a game or a similarly interactive environment/experience. Cheers! //Rick

All of you Backrooms animators are amazing. I know there are certain things you do to make it easier on you--like VHS grain filters and the like--but you all deserve to do tweaks like that to make it easier because the quality is so top notch. I keep thinking what it might be like if you all joined forces and became a super animating group or something. Not that you should, I just wonder what kind of work you'd do together if THESE videos are you working independently or even with a small set of people.

Just wanted to drop you a quick line and compliment you on a job well done. You took the general concept of the backrooms, infinite (or near-infinite) procedurally generated levels/worlds/realities that regular folks get lost within, and put your own spin on it. Each of your videos features a different area that seems inspired by the backrooms wiki yet isn't beholden to that established lore, which I consider a great thing. Great job! I also like the scraps of equipment that the APRF seemingly abandoned in this video. Judging by appearances alone, it appears to be early to mid-1950s level tech. This makes me theorize that these parallel realities have always been there and this (possibly government) agency had been conducting research until they stopped. But they aren't necessarily from our (or yours, more specifically) baseline reality. The age of the equipment and the APRF posters here and the previous video make me wonder if there aren't time shenanigans taking place in addition to space and dimensional ones. For example, the APRF posters in the previous video were plastered over the ENTITY graffiti, signifying that the APRF entered this area way after these unknown explorers/taggers. But those posters are extremely aged, matching the condition of the abandoned equipment, the walls, furniture, etc. So, how long ago did the APRF conduct their research? How long have these spaces been here? And does time flow differently in these rooms? Since we don't see any evidence of APRF in the earlier videos, it makes me wonder where their point of entry was. This level? Another one we have yet to see? Perhaps the person who scrawled the text and pictures on the earlier walls was an APRF agent/employee who got lost themselves, opting to try and be helpful as they tried to find a way out, only to later add more nihilistic phrases to their earlier statements when they gave up hope. APRF. My guess so far is Advanced Paranormal Research Facility or Abnormal Physics Research Foundation. The chances that this is correct, though, are slim to none, but it is fun trying to guess. Keep up the great work!

I've been to a backrooms in my dreams during high school and college mostly. That was 10+ years ago. It's pretty cool to see visuals on a computer generated program of the place. I was usually in areas similar to the first floors, the garden areas, very rarely in the pool room places, and occasionally in the weird long corridor with dozens of doors areas. Mine were slightly tweaked though. Things like the floor being different or different colors of lighting and the walls and such. The creatures varied greatly and I always remember being able to run infinitely, climb walls, levitate, phase through walls/ceilings/floors, be invisible when hiding in shadows and other strange abilities to avoid capture or being killed. The way I escaped in my own dreamscape backrooms was to dive into a pitch black opening, doorway or hallway and I'd be "lifted" out of the dream back into my own head and wake up. Crazy and unpredictable, but fun. These dreams still appear every now and again.

Out of all the backrooms seen in your videos, I honestly like the Grassrooms the most. It is so serene, pretty, and tranquil. The afternoon glow that basks the ruined Skyscrapers covered in fields of flowers amongst the cloud helps highlight it all up like a smooth cherry on top. One can spend days just going for a relaxed walk here. And that helps what makes it feel so suffocating. Like a suffocating isolation, even if you're with others. It feels safe, the place isn't all that hostile beyond being careless with your steps (and subsequently take a plunge) and the rare no-gravity with the environment zone, but it's still pretty... unnatural. You don't belong here and never will. Just this alone on the first time viewing got my captivated but at the same time creepied out yet. Practically telling that the two (four in those brief blink and miss it creatures starring at him through a distant window) entities that chase him here take on floral characteristics, as if they're former people that died here and took on the room's primary characteristics with a really unsettling wind-like voice + screaming heads. Which already leaves disturbing implications, especially when we get that scene at the end here with all those faces coming out of the wall. Not gonna lie, this haunted at least one of my nightmares months ago, lol. If all of them are just a single entity, it does leave me to suspect all of the floral humanoids are part of a single creepy hive mind that 'tends' to the gardens, dispatching and/or assimilating intruders to be part of it. Nutrients to the plants... heh... Maybe I'm wrong and it's just one body that can effectively 'teleport' to other areas in the gardens. The writings on the walls especially pick up intensity here, with a couple of them being cheeky enough to write on a distant building (look behind you!) and leading to us being more or less verbally (written?) introduced to APRF as the kane pixel's inspired research group snooping around in the Backrooms. I'll probably comment a bit more on them come the Suburbs, but hey it ain't a first person found footage Backrooms video series without the good ol' yellow hazmats showing up! Lol. Considering the Weeping Angel movements of those to appear in the Suburbs and what came from Fun Palace, I am left figuring out if there's some other benign omni-present unseen entity that writes/draws on the walls much like Rosemary to help guide the protagonist along... or something more sinister at stake. Mysteries, mysteries that keep us thinking! I do like this place had some notable locations to visit, with the Catholic-like Cathedral being my favorite of it all. I adore the tranquil ambience music put in for the cathedral! (And like how it pops up later, haha). Once again, you've made a very interesting series in your own way. Grassrooms is where the series got very compelling & captivating! :)
