"I'm sad to see you go, but I am still one of THEM! Be safe and good luck. -Rosemary" Poor kid just wants a friend, yet she cannot deny what she was born into, even while rebelling against it to do the right thing.
@Theviewerdude2 жыл бұрын
I just realized something. In the suburbia level, as he got closer to Rosemary's mansion, there were clear signs that the adult facelings put up to discourage him, that only got more and more intense the closer he got. To the point they physically tried to stop him. Maybe it's not that they were trying to hurt him, but actually they knew what Luna was doing to the other explorers in the mansion and wanted to keep him safe. This would make sense given most interpretations say adult facelings are friendly, and the children being hostile. Rosemary unwittingly led the protagonist into a trap, and prevented the others from saving him.

Honestly Rosemary's and Lavender's house is beautiful. Also this garden room at 38:00 -gorgeous. Idk if that water at the water fountain was drinkable, but if I was in his position, I'd just throw myself in there and relax for a bit. When he ran to Rosemary (was that Rosemary?) it felt like a warm welcome. Like she said "its ok, youre safe, at least in my garden". The jumpscares in this one scared the shit out of me, but lets not talk about that lol. (No ok lets talk abt it. I loved it) When he entered that room at 19:16, we could hear these weird, quiet noises. (Idk if they were caused by the camera, or the entity or whatever, but) they reminded me of Stranger Things. I thought 'turn around and walk out, man' and then he proceeded to walk down the most claustrophobic staircase. When the walls turned white I was like 'alright man, dont walk out of there, RUN'. If I entered a room and there was blood on the walls, together with some Demogorgon noises, I'd nope the fuck outta there. Also Idk if it was supposed to come across that way, but at 30:11, when he suddenly stepped very close to that bed, I could practically feel his tiredness haha. Honestly wouldnt blame him, if he just tried to take a nap there and then, but he probably wouldnt last long. Those curtains right above the matress looked mad sus.. I also like how at the end we could hear him breathing heavily, almost at the verge of tears, when he realized, he really had to go down that scary slide. I'm really tempted to paint a bunch of flowers on my wall right now. The visuals were just that good

Oh, poor Rosemary has no idea how evil her sister is... ...no wait, nevermind, now she does. I wonder if Kitty was even evil to begin with. She was rather nice in the source material. Either way, this was just another fantastic tape to go through. I love the nuanced movements of the protagonist, when he backs out a bit after approaching certain areas... Another thing I noticed, when he was in the Grassrooms, he was full-on paranoid, looking back and forth all the time. Here, because he now knew he was in the house of the entity who saved him, he's a bit more chill with the paranoia... well, at least at first, but even after seeing Kitty, he still had confidence that whatever's inside Rosemary's house couldn't possibly be all that bad... until he realized Lavender wasn't as nice as her sis. To me, it looked like a fit of jealousy. Poor Luna.

Wow, this surely was a wild ride. I like how diverse the rooms get so it never becomes predictable and the story gets more confusing. So far we know that some organization explored the backrooms and left notes on the first levels to help others. However, one team went missing after encountering the unknown fourth entity. At this point all help we now get is from Rosemary who seems to have a complicated relationship with her sister Lavender (not sure how the jester Luna fits into this). While Rosemary literally portrays herself as an angel, Lavender seems to be more like a little devil who loves to "prank" people. Considering the splattered remains of people that look like a bloody web of flesh, I get the feeling that these pranks tend to be deadly. What really caught me off guard was the picture of the grassroom corridors. That makes me wonder if it's just a random portrait or if there is a deeper meaning behind it. I'm still suspicious about Rosemary, despite her efforts to help people. Mostly because you can't trust anything in the backrooms. While Lavender's hostility is made crystal clear, Rosemary's role is still dubious. Apparently she used to be known by a different name but erased it and replaced it with "Rosemary". So it's questionable if she really is as noble as she portrays herself

what an amazing speculation and how completely spot on it is!
@NoxAtlas2 жыл бұрын
@@lostinthehyperverse Thanks a lot. I try my best to follow the story and put all the small pieces together. But I think it's still too early to jump into conclusions. I also made a mistake in my comment. The unknown entity is number 4, no.3 was that thing from the grassroom corridors. And no.0 is probably that nasty flesh web. After re-watching your videos, I noticed that the change in the environment (like moving objects) started in the grassroom corridors after escaping the many-eyed entity. So I think it's not too far-fetched to say that either Rosemary or Lavender (or both) were already starting to meddle with the camera guy. This would also explain the giant black hands coming out of the doors (which Rosemary used to get rid of the people at the end of the Suburbia room). Since I don't have much information about Luna, I mostly left her out of my theories.

@@guppylipz Yes, the people leaving messages on Level 0 and the poolrooms and probably the first half of the grassroom corridors were from the organization. In the poolrooms almost all team members got assimilated by the wires near the end. So they left several messages on the walls as a warning to help other travelers to escape.

Judging by watching this and the Playtime Palace one, here's my two cents to throw in: All three entities seem nice - in that they're actively trying to be nice. But they feel like Fae creatures, where they often have a genuine want to either help or play with the mortals they interact with, rather than hurt them, but often times don't truly understand how to do either of those things. Rosemary is clearly the most understanding of those dangers, so while being child-like, still gives them real advice to avoid danger and stay safe, Lavender might be too but I'm not as sure with her. Luna on the other hand seems the most Fae like. She makes a huge space for play and pretend fun, hoping to entertain the mortals lost within it, but doesn't understand that no matter fun and colorful it is, if they can't leave, they'll go completely insane. The guy lost within it with the crayon went insane to the point that he clearly eagerly welcomed the idea of Luna killing him, and Luna most likely went along with it not out of malice, but out of the thought of 'well if that's what he wants'. Heck, she might not even understand death is permeant for a mortal, she might just see it as another game. Edit: Got near the end: Nope, Lavender's bad for sure!

If you're taking level recommendations, a few that are on my wishlist for this series, whether as their own episodes or maybe as part of another levels episode, would be the Crimson Forest, Opposite Oceans, The Dimensional Sublime and in general just more of the super abstract environments that the backrooms has to offer. ♥

Amazing! and Kitty is actually a friendly non hostile entity. and i think the entity, "kitty " might be a she and she probably is lonely and sad from either staying all alone or losing her other family members to another hostile entity ,hence those alphabet letter blocks said "she is broken"abd wants to befriend the lost wanderers for company or want them to have tea parties with her. and the rosemary rooms are 1 of the stunning levels of the backrooms! and i was hoping to see more screentime for miss kitty.
@coreym1622 жыл бұрын
I believe the real Kitty was killed by Rose Mary's sister, Lavender and she appears to be masquerading as Kitty. :/ It appears Kitty goes by Luna in this iteration. Lavender did scratch out Rose-Mary from the picture and depicted shredding Luna too. Rose-Mary also said she lied. I presume lying about protecting hero for Rose-Mary because, Rose-Mary appears to still be alive. Lavender likely wants the hero dead.
@purparyumi-raimyura-22 жыл бұрын
@@coreym162 Yea! Kitty kinda appeared to be hostile in this footage, it's probably because Lavender disguised as Kitty and from what we saw,Lavender appears to be hostile and she might have killed rosemary along with kitty. She probably now rules the entire level 974 of the backrooms and doesn't like guests on the level. And she loves playing cat and mouse with the lost wanderers because Lavender only sees them as mere playthings and the wanderers must go along and agree to her bidding . Although i don't think Lavender would keep upto her words,she seems two faced. She seems to definitely enjoy watching her targeted victims/wanderers fight for their lives. And it's sad that the wanderers can't escape level 974 if kitty is dead, because giving kitty a cute item is the only way out of level 974 and further leading you to another safe level of the backrooms .

I love the details I catch on many re-watches of this video. One notable catch I love is the differences between Lavender and Rose. A red flag of Lav's intentions is how little she actually interacts with the Cameraman, only jumping in when she is tormenting him. Rose was always there as a guide and guardian throughout the neighborhood. What makes these hints great is how subtle they are, until you look closely and pay attention to important details. Also their presence are displayed through their color themes. Its so clever how when we see Roses colors we and the cameraman are somewhat at ease. When LAv's colors show , weird shit happens and instinctually we are on edge. The visual narrative in these videos are amazing.Great work LostinHyperspace! , Im looking forward to the next video!

Your choices of architecture for the halls and rooms are interesting. It went from girly styles, to a medieval castle style, to different royal palace styles, among other bizarre nightmare like designs. These choices of architecture, 45 minute video length with a slow burn story buildup and a seemingly benevolent entity make your backroom videos like no other.

Man, your work is beyond stunning: this is not entertainment, it is literal art, and not even of the cheap kind. You clearly put passion in your work, express deep emotions and try to grasp that mysterious and haunting feeling of liminality that makes the whole amazing. This is a masterpiece not only in the visuals, but also and maybe most importantly in the overall feeling it creates: soothing, quiet, almost peaceful, yet mysterious, dangerous, abnormal, surreal and incomprehensible. One of the things I like the most about your work is that there is actually meaning behind the details, there is a rather complex storyline that can be mostly grasped if someone is good enough at connecting all the dots and use some imagination. For that reason, I never feel like what is happening is absolutely meaningless; however, because this meaning is mostly hidden and difficult to grasp in its totality, there is this incredible sense of mystery that permeates everything. Because in the average backrooms video there is no meaning behind a certain object or place, it is almost useless to wonder about their mysteries, because they have no explanation; here, on the contrary, many things are there to convey a specific meaning, which is pretty difficult to grasp completely so it creates mystery. Even if I'd like to understand the whole meaning, at the same time I am deeply fascinated by the mystery of not knowing, which is one of the greatest allures of the Backrooms in general, and of your videos in particular. An example: in the room with the water slide, there were some parts of the text on the walls that were unreadable. For a while I desperately tried to pause at the right moment and understand what was written, but in the end I thought: "You know what? Why don't we just sit back and enjoy the beauty of the mystery?" Your videos feature the ultimate example of the timeless fascination of the unknown. Keep it up sir!

The usage of the kinds of aesthetics in rosemary's house awakens fringe memories that I'd assumed we've seen as young children early on in life....maybe like wallpapers or furniture patterns at a grandparent's house, per say? This episode alone was a HUGE wave of nostalgia for fringe memories on the edges of my mind from the rose wallpaper alone. I remember that design from childhood....

This series is absolutely phenomenal. The animation and world design is beautiful, of course, but it's the way that the protagonist interacts with the world that really stands out to me. The camera movements, the heavy breathing and sense of panic whenever an entity appears/something unsettling happens, the consistent, paranoid glances over the shoulder...The suspense is incredible and the jumpscares are so well executed. I feel like nothing ever goes unexplored. Every ledge is peered over, every corner looked behind...I'm never left wanting more from a particular location. Every reaction (whether born from fear or curiosity) feels completely natural and it's SO easy to feel immersed in the world because of it. Your skills, effort and dedication are all so obvious and each video has been SUCH a joy to watch. Thank you so much, can't wait for part 8!!

I absolutely love this series. Each episode just gets better than the last! Trying to work out now who or what Rosemary is. Could she be a benevolent entity that's simply trying to help our traveller escape the backrooms? Or could she be trying to maneuver him towards some kind of destiny? Whatever the case, it seems that there are others closely connected to her that are trying to put an end to it. Maybe Lavender is her evil twin?

it's fascinating to see your work and notice all the small details (along with the captions, which help my disoriented ass a lot). You really nail that tangible but not real feeling, and the way you build up tension is just amazing. At some parts I started to feel like I wanted to drift off but then remember the situation of the camera person and the fear came back again... I just love the way you handle the story. Forgot to mention the Luna jumpscare, too. It left me hearing my heartbeat resonating in my head. It's kinda funny how effective it was when it didn't even make a sound, the treat of the jester being so close was enough. And the reveal of what Lavender did (whatever her reasons were), heartbreaking. I don't really think Luna is/was hostile, they were a victim too. Goodness, I love these series.

I've been watching your stuff for 5 months now, and I seriously haven't seen a backrooms series so beautiful! And imaginative too, really unique design and attention to detail that's hard to come by, and like others here say, your patients and restraint for horror is commendable. Dude, I don't, or _didn't_ scare easily, but your carefully crafted suspense had me fearing every time our brave explorer turned around to check for danger. I really appreciate your storytelling through set pieces, that's not easy to pull off without seeming too over the top or too much. Rosemary was a good girl in the end and Lavender will continue to misdirect and harm Backroom passerbys, both are unfortunate souls trapped and used by the alien Labyrinth, like playful forest spirits (character names is very clever btw). Again, your designing is fantastic, the lovely wallpaper becomes uneasy like the space is trying to welcome you, but at the same time looks like fleshy innards... I look forward to how you'll adapt the Playrooms I believe(?) in your next video, I'll patiently wait, what terrifying entity could possibly be worse then something that plans in advance?

Your interpretation & portrayal of the backrooms has to be my favorite. The buildup & the subtle storytelling is phenomenal. I love how dynamic the characterization of these entities is despite them only appearing for a few frames at most. 99% of backrooms media always portrays them as mindless killers but your's is more varied, believeable & leaves them open to so much more. The true horror of the alien is what we do not understand. Are these entities trying to hurt us or protect us? Doesn't help that they can only manifest & communicate in ways that we do not understand & I love how they try to conform to a method of communication that we can understand.

This is head and shoulders above other Backrooms interpretations in many ways, not the least of which is the ambitious scope of the rooms being explored. Adding the ability for objects to move and the surroundings to change adds endless storytelling possibilities, and you've used those tools really well. First and foremost, there is a story. It's told in small pieces, with lots of exploring going on at the same time, but that keeps these videos fascinating and compelling despite the slow pace and length of them. Keep up the great work!

@Riccardo_Mori2 жыл бұрын
Better and better and better. This segment was perhaps the most claustrophobic. The colour gamut, the persistence of floral patterns, the carpeted interiors, everything contributed to creating a sickly and overwhelming atmosphere. I loved how most environments were static, but just a few unforeseen movements (corridors that change height, an unexpected encounter, subtle things out of the corner of the explorer's eye) were enough to instantly induce anxiety and paranoia - so every time the explorer enters a room through a door, they immediately check if the door is still behind them. I agree with other commenters who mentioned how you nailed the dream element in the narrative. This segment in particular felt like a great mix of Alice in Wonderland and dream logic. Even the sense of dread and the more open threat had a dreamlike quality and didn't feel like 'alien' entity or some kind of product of a scientific experiment gone wrong. I really appreciate your narrative work and visual presentation here. It feels quite different from other creators' versions of the Backrooms. These places you portray seem to be coming from both another dimension and from our psyche or inner world. I am as always astounded by the detail and complexity of the environments you create. The amount of planning, drawing, and animating behind the scenes feels staggering. Because it's not just like creating e.g. a 'game level' or even a 'game map'. There's the environment creation, but also - let's call it the filmmaker's directorial work of 'filming' the exploration in first-person view. What can I say? Bravo. Cheers, //Rick

This is probably the most scary and unsettling (in the positive sense) incarnation of the Backrooms I've ever see. I was constantly on the edge while watching! Gathering the info from the video and the other comments, it seems that: 1. Rosemary is locked outside, so she barely interacts with the house except rescuing the wanderer near the end. 2. Lavender deceived Rosemary, promising to take care of the rescued people after playing a scary game with her; instead, she killed them gruesomely. This is probably the missing team from Suburbia; they all got rescued by Rosemary, but perished inside house. 3. Luna was killed and absorbed by Lavender; the one we see is actually Rosemary sister. In this Canon, she's also Kitty. 4. But Kitty appears instead as a thick shadow. Unlike Lavender/Luna, she seems uninterested in chasing the wanderer. She appears exactly twice, and the first time she bars the only passage deeper into the house, shaking her head. The other time she appears in the doorway, making no hostile move. So... It appears that Luna isn't dead after all, she just lost her form and was forced to continue existence as Kitty? She seems to try to warn the wanderer, but her menacing appearance seems to be doing the opposite.

What I find interesting is that there are four entities that have names? Luna or was it Lula, the clown, Lavender, Rosemary, and Kitty. However, we're not sure how Kitty looks. Not to mention in the beginning the blocks wrote out, "She's broken" What does that mean? Who are they mentioning it? Because it's not all of them but one of them. It would make sense its Rosemary because she helps the cameraman- maybe her kind didn't like how she's saving them. But it shows at the end Lavender can now SEE, maybe she finally became one of her kind and force the clown to be on her side instead of her little sister. So many questions, that makes the viewers so into it. Great shows!

Your work kind of remind me of those classic I Spy books they had in my grade school classes back in the day. These books with elaborate photos where you had to find items within from a list on the side. The books had that classical luminal aura with old toys amongst other items neatly positioned in an artistic sort of way. I could stare into these books for hours if they had let me, not just for the challenge of finding the listed objects but to wish I were there in those spaces. Despite the horrors within the worlds portrayed in your videos, I find myself actually wanting to be there where I could sit and relax and take in the atmosphere. Some of those pink rooms with the rose decor made me think of pleasant desserts with similar colored cake icing or cream with red, pink and green candies crowning the pastry. Looking forward to the next chapter! Meanwhile I might go see if I can find those old I Spy books on eBay just for nostalgia sake c_c edit: there was something about the transitioning room at the end there. The colorful playgrounds did something for me, sure. But the gold balloon on the ground that the explorer passes as he pans the camera around made me really happy for some reason. Perhaps the gold chrome color contrasting with the playful surrounding has that effect on me... You really aught to make still images of some of your work here and put it in a neat gallery somewhere. Bonus points if you produced some 3D MPO files so I can load them up on my Nintendo 3DS and other 3D devices! :3 Yeah, I'm a true geek for that sort of thing!
