Hi Katherine! I just played Cosette in Les Mis as a TeenStage (so all high schoolers but it is at a theater not at school ) which was so incredible! I’m a freshman, so didn’t really expect a big role. I loved your tech video which happened to be released right before my tech! Now I’m doing Into the Woods at the same place! This video was my first introduction to into the woods, I had heard of it but never really heard much of it, and after I watched this I thought it seemed like such a fun show and a local theater was doing it so i auditioned and got the role of the baker and it has probably been my favor tire show I’ve ever been in like of all time, if I hadn’t seen this video I probably wouldn’t have auditioned so thank you so much!

Hi Katherine! I’m fairly new to the musical theatre fandom, I love your videos! They’re entertaining and I’ve also learned a lot. I wanted to ask a question for you or anyone else who wants to weigh in: I just saw Phantom of the Opera for the first time (!!!) and the sequel will be coming to town soon and I just wondered if there’s a general consensus on it. Do phans (is that right? lol) love it? Hate it? Is it considered canon? Or ignored? Just curious about it and wondering if I should see it

Hey there!! Opinions on Love Never Dies really depends on the individual Phan...personally, I don't view it as canon, I see it as it's own entity (which is the same way I view Wicked and Wizard of Oz). It's an interesting show and some of the music is GORGEOUS! There's a legally filmed version of the Australian production available, I'd recommend checking that out & seeing if it's something you want to see in person.

hey katherine! i have a video request/idea! could you make a video on how to look younger for auditions and roles? a company in my hometown is doing Matilda (i know i’m freaking out too) and I will be nearly 15 by the time the shows come around if I make it into the program/get the role of Matilda. I do theatre and I'm so excited to get into more real productions. I've loved watching your Theatre Thursday videos! I came upon this video and clicked because I got done with a community production of Into the Woods a couple months ago and am still feeling a lot of withdrawal (I blame not being in any shows currently). Then I saw that YOU PLAYED RAPUNZEL!!!!!! That was the role I played this summer, and I loved it so much! I love that you named your babies too- my children were Fern and Ellie, but their full names were Fiddlefern and Celery. I figured Rapunzel named them in the desert and didn't know people names, only vegetable names. So she and the prince compromised when they reunited to have more human names. Also, I love that your Red was sewing something for burlesque- that's what our Jack's Mother did backstage! Your cast seems lovely, I bet it was a fantastic show!

URGENT QUESTION: How can you wear glasses and not have to get contacts especially if you are afraid of have even leakier eyes and putting them in? I auditioned for my school's musical and didn't get called back and I feel like crap. I was the lead in the musical in middle school last year and I feel like everyone expects me to be great. I am also the officer for my choir so I am like a leader to them and I feel like I just lost everything. My audition wasn't too good because I was nervous and my voice decided to not sing it the way it usually does because of my nerves. The audition song was not my style and out of my chest-y belting range (which is what I typically sing in) which made me more nervous. I like contemporary musicals and Beauty and the Beast isn'treally my thing. I just needed to rant I have had a stressful week.
