In a modern world, it’s hard to imagine what life was like in the Middle Ages. We have so many conveniences that they simply didn’t have back then. And yet, in some ways, life was simpler then. There were no smartphones or laptops to keep us tethered to work. Instead, people spent their time outdoors, enjoying the company of others.
One activity that was popular during Medieval times was combat and jousting. While this might seem like a barbaric way to spend one’s time, it was actually a very strategic game. Two opponents would face off on horseback, trying to knock each other off with a lance. The winner would be the one who could stay on his horse and make the most hits.
While this activity is no longer popular, there are still places where you can go to experience it. At Medieval Times, for example, you can watch as knights battle it out in a tournament. It’s a fun way to step back in time and see how people used to entertain themselves.
What is Jousting?
