When you quiet the mind (not 'empty' it), then you will 'hear' the Voice of Truth: Conscience. Conscience convicts us of error/wrongdoing/sin but we think it's our enemy and so we make as much noise and activity as possible to not hear/attend to it. We project it out from us onto the world and others, who then become 'enemy.' The enemy of doubt is within. So, also, is the only Way to grapple with it. Godspeed!
