@@letusreason3554 That relationship caused many problems with the three Supremes. Diane figured she was sleeping with the boss, and her demands became even greater. Whatever she asked Berry to do as far as the group went, he did it. Let me give just one example. Telling the cameramen to keep the cameras on Diane all the time. They went on Flo and Mary so quickly, if you blinked you missed them. Turning Flo and Mary's mics down. The list is endless.

@Damo Trent ... she manipulated him. When he made the Wiz, he wouldnt let Miss Ross play Dorthy, because she was too old. But Diane went over Berry's head to the other producers. And they put her in the movie as a 14 year old Dorothy. It ruined the movie.

Berry Gordy thanked Diana Ross... ok, I can buy that. But why didnt he thank his family? Some of his sisters and brothers worked at Motown, with little to no thanks. And they lent him 800 dollars to start Motown... and his sister showed him how to write music. Or how about Holland -Dozier-Holland, who wrote great great hits. He took HDH away from Martha Reeves, and gave them and their hits to snake Diana.

2:28 / 2:29 Diana's eye rolls show how silly and cartoonish she likely thinks this show portrays her. Look at Gordy's controlling mug while she talks almost as if he knows she finds the portrayal silly and self indulgent on his part. They over exaggerate the real Supremes, Ross and Motown in general. It comes off like the Brady Bunch singing "It's a Sunshine Day" rather than a real classy cool record and star generator that it was back in the day. They did not need to turn it into a non stop jumble jangle of cute Christmas songs. It's yucky and embarrassing displayed like Clown Fair. Poor Ross must be secretly mortified by this. I would be!
