God sure put some fire in James Brown spirit, because just when you felt yourself going down, depressed, he could make you get up and move. He was very physical and spiritually fit. I know he shot my self esteem up 100%, in the 60s, when he put out Say It Loud I'm Black And I'm Proud. I was always glad to call him godfather of soul.✌❤

Exactly! I'm a tejano music fan & I didn't feel JLo did Selena justice in the movie in which she starred in about her life. Sel had 'more spunk'. JLo matching Selena's dancing skills were just mediocre at best. But then JLo is Puerto Rican & Selena was Mexican-American, so I don't believe she was able to pull it off. I doubt JLo ever even heard of Tejano music before then or listened it. She did have her butt tho. 😊

Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020) played James Brown (1933-2006), alongside Nelson Ellis (1977-2017) who played Bobby Byrd (1934-2007). The only two actors who played the Famous Flame backup dancers in the TAMI show scene who are still alive are Aakomon Jones and Codie Wiggins, who were choreographers for the film.

@Holly Golightly He was Chad Boseman giving a theatrical insight into JB's life and history. People think by some trick of magic or witchery one should literally be able to become an exact duplication of another person. You can impersonate mannerisms and duplicate personal habits and speech patterns, but no one can "become" some one else. Sometimes a glimpse is all that is required.
