I am also an older actor that came back much later in life, I did a small film over the summer after not doing any acting foe several years. To make a long story short the director liked my audition tape so much that he flew me out to Tuscaloosa AL, after we shot my scene, I had the whole crew including the director in tears and they gave me a standing ovation, and it felt amazing! So I want to continue acting and would like to make a full time job of it, not for the money which is nice but I love doing it, thank you for the inspiration ladies, and my services are available to any of you!

Being a good person is very difficult when you are constantly being harassed for existing. And those of us who manage to do that are still told by Mark Hirshfield in a room full of backstage convention goers that they’re just aren’t any rules for you to play.

So interesting! I wish I could get cast in Dune: The Sisterhood or 10, 000 ships. So many cool casting projects coming up. Eurasian actors (Im Anglo-Burmese) never get a look in by casting directors. In Australia, tv casting racism is so bad they had a doco on it just last week!

I think if you’re good at timing the other lines you’ve recorded yourself, then it’s totally fine in the Uk. We are in a pandemic and even having someone via zoom presents problems if you need your equipment to film yourself.

Is there hope for people wh don’t have technical skills on filmmaking. I thought actors were supposed to be showing how well they play characters, not how brilliantly they produce the film or their epic cinematography. There should be room for raw acting skills even if the technical stuff is not great.
