@@username-zj9id I'm sure I'll catch shit for saying it (because the Randy loyalists always freak out)...but I can play Randys material note for note and Jake's stuff has definitely been tougher to emulate. So I absolutely prefer Jake. Doesn't mean Randy isn't brilliant...but at the end of the day....its all subjective anyway. Cheers

I remember Jake from San Diego when he was with the band teaser. I worked with one of the competing bands in San Diego as an FOH engineer. There is only four that were really worth their salt and teaser was one of them. They always treated me well, Sterling and Jake we're easy for me to get along with. I have always wished him the best.

First of all, thanks for the video. I've found something new, especially these Mötley Crüe and back to Ozzy thingys. What I would add: Jake E. Lee and Warren DeMartini (Ratt’s guitarist) shared a room for a while and had got drunk after sad news about Randy Rhoads died. They seemed to exchange some of guitar tricks, at some point both guitar players have some common subtle things in their playing. After Badlands' break-up Jake had formed Wicked Alliance band with Mandy Lion on vocals (WWIII), Brian Perry on bass and Ray Luzier on drums (KoЯn). Even Ray mocked this project for their vocsls. For some reason it was ended in 1994, maybe label/business-related issues and, probably, didn't feel good about Ray's death, but who knows; Jake ended up releasing a solo record "A Fine Pink Mist" on japanese label and disappeared until 2005 release "Retraced" which we might consider as a list of his musical influences. Recording this album was also an honour for Jake to work with bassist Tim Bogert (Cactus, Vanilla Fudge).

Here's a few more. Jakey's real name is Jakey Williams, that is where "Jake E." comes from. He went to Mar Vista High School located at 505 Elm Ave. Imperial Beach, Ca. I used to walk by his house on Fern Ave. and could hear him playing his guitar, he was always playing heavy power guitar. In high school, Jakey would get together with other musicians and would sometimes play during lunch break on a little stage. One time it went bad, I guess the singer wanted to perform longer but the faculty said no, then it got worse. I saw Teaser at several backyard parties in the South Bay area before they went three piece and were the house band at Straita-DEAD-Sound. Sterling, well, Sterling was Sterling. Gene Hunter, his ex-rythym guitar/ex-bass player is a real cool dude. Teaser covered a lot of Van Halen stuff.

If I were J E L in the situation where OZZY asked him to be a fill in guitarist again, I would have written out my own contract stating the full amount of $5 million must be paid up front & then receive all BATM royalties at 50 % : & then state my payment rates for live shows :& that’s even before talking to any management or band members face to face, all contracts must be signed 1st before any appearances.

If it was not for Jake E. Lee I probably would have never picked up a guitar. Now I have been playing for over thirty years, and my younger of two sons has been playing for about three years. I have always wanted a chance to thank him being being who he is and doing what he dose. Playing guitar has brought me many many years shear enjoyment, and a lifetime of great friends and memories. Now that I am helping my Son with his playing it has come full circle. None of this would have happened if had never seen Jake's solo on the ultimate ozzy concert back in 88. If Jake happens to read this "Thanks dude"

Ronnie Mancuso did help get Jake out of retirement back in 2013, but Jake gives producer Kevin Churcko more credit for returning. Kevin originally tried to get Jake back with Ozzy Osbourne , but the stipulation was only if he got credit for the Bark At The Moon album. Since that didn't work out, Kevin invited Jake to his studio to work on his own band which ended up being Red Dragon Cartel. I wish that it worked out with Ozzy because the Jake E Lee era is my favorite, but I am just glad that he is back. He is one of the greatest guitar players ever, and in my opinion he is very underrated. He should be way bigger than he already is.

Jake xcelled in senior high school with all A+ .. +++ He went to learn musical theory at a university course at 12yrs until 16 . He didn't want to continue college because '' I know everything in music theory already'' Then he move to l.a and lived with his room mates from Rat ⏩⏩⏩

Sadly, its zero sum for Ozzy; he just wants someone to write for him. I was shocked to find out that Geezer wrote most of the lyrics in Black Sabbath and Bob Daisley did the lyrics in the solo stuff in the early years of Ozzy. The only real thing Ozzy's done was the Synth on "Who Are You" on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and some of the vocal melodies...Ozzy's whole career is based on everyone else's work.
