Thanks for sharing this information. This is the best video on video camera design that I've seen on KZbin. I would eliminate the tree and include an additional camera on the front-left corner of the house. In my opinion, said camera is important because it gives more protection to the 2 front windows and also should be able to record license plate numbers from the cars that are heading in the opposite direction of the road. This way, license plate numbers can be seen by both front corner cameras, no matter which direction vehicles are heading.

1) Should you not specify how high the cameras are to be mounted, don't want to capture the top of people's heads verses their faces? 2) Whether you are going to use a Bullet or Dome style camera, based upon how high the camera can be mounted to prevent vandalism of the camera?

Very informative video! I was curious if you wanted to do a license plate reader to get the cars passing by does that need to be mounted closest to the street near the sidewalk or can it be mounted under an eve on the house and point out to an area in the street where the cars pass by?

Any location that provides a clear view of the plate at a specific location, use a camera with a zoom lens so the view can be adjusted to capture the plates as the vehicle passes. We are looking into you ourselves. We have a 8 camera system with cat 5 cables installed. The problem we have had was our cameras zoom but, its not at all clear to see faces. Even in a close shot of an animal in our driveway on 24/7 recording the animal and person disappear . I want cameras who can zoom and see plates or zoom to see someone on our sidewalk clearly. Thanks for this video. I made a mistake with the company I chose they just wanted my money and did not really give me a quality system. I think your cameras should see things and be clear zooming or its not worth having them.
