Skating Flat After Months of Antirocker // Aggressive Inline Skating

I'm a huge fan of skating antirocker, but there's something fun about the feeling of skating flat. So I set up by USD Carbon with some 4x 58mm wheels and some new grind plates to see how skating flat felt after all this time.

Around 8:45 you can see what appears to be a father on a skateboard and his child, all padded up with a board almost as big as him; although it isn't inline related it is still a heartwarming scene. Today is the first day I will try out my carbons. I have two USD VII sole plates, in red and black, I haven't been able to locate a white set. Hi Law, you are spot on about the grind plates. A little nostalgia never hurt anyone. while they plates may not be necessary anymore, its a great way to pay homage to the roots of skating. And yes, they sound sooo good! I was able to order a red one and cant wait to put them on. Thanks for bringing them back!

I just switched from flat to anti today. Flat has been my way to go, in the past together with these nice thick cds grindplates. But anti rocker, oh boy, it's amazing for royales.

It’s great for grinds, and that’s primarily what I do. Flat is better for knees though

Just switched out of a rocker setup. Bought so much e bigger wheels ans switched from abec5s to 7s. Started back skating about 3 weeks ago. Stoked to try out the new set up

grew up skating this park early 2000's. Skating the flatbottom in the other direction was something we started doing in about 2004. been this way for a long time

Grind plates are back.useless these days but great. Old 50/50, scribe and Senate were the grind plates I used. I remember senate blocks, the thick ones lol

Hey bro, appreciating your vids. Im back at it after nearly 2 decades or real skating. My first skates were Lightnings, then my next were Tarmacs. I was going to get back on it in my Tarmacs but they happened to break right when I was going to put them on - SOOOOOO I jumped into a part of Razor Shift 2's. To get my fat off I got the 3 wheel frame set up as well so I can play on both fields since im about to crack 40....gotta make the heart healthy. Anyway, I am enjoying your vids and nice to see some old dudes out here still making it happen. BTW, are you a part of 50/50 ownership or just reppin / sponsored by the brand. I was cracking up on the vid you mentioned how much water you were drinking and how the bag didnt have a space for it....my wife was cracking up at me at how much water starts pouring from my body when I am skating ....I don't recall that being the case as a teenager.

Grindplates, that word really brings back alot of skating memories. Remember the Senate aluminum ones. And Im sure you remember the 50 50 grind plates Law, that every skate had for a few years. I had the green ones on my K2 Backyards. Looking at my 1998 Daily Bread mag, and almost every picture had grindplates. There is a 50/50 Grindplate add in this issue for John Starr pro grindplates.

I need a helmet. I have been enjoying my flat Oysi setup for speed and control. It does take some adjustment, especially with the slight rocker I have. It has been nice because they are capable of some fun freestyle moves too, with the rockered setup.

I'm pretty new to blading. I started back in June and went to this park around the end of July. Compared to my park back in Georgia, I was having a hard time getting speed to air some of the obstacles. Maybe it was my wheel size (58) and also my unfamiliarity with my skates. I like the park though! Seeing you skate makes me want to continue to get better. Keep it up.

Hey, it’s good to see use those transition but please man when you jump use your arm and shoulder to really get that height you are missing!! There’s no better sensation than flying up and dropping midway in the transition and getting mad speed!! That’s one of the things i like the most while skating!! I still enjoyed the video as always!! Back to Blading Just think of it as this when you reach the top of the kicker ramp and you jump from the squat position just explode reaching for the sky and if you do a grab leave the other arm up to keep whether the rotation axis or simply to keep your body from going forward or backward! Once you get the hang of it you will discover a new passion to always get that extra hmmpf in your jumps!! Stay safe brother!
