@jb0 - He was demonstrating how to load the program in a real environment - then he showed how to use it using Packet tracer rather than introducing more variables into the video. This was an excellent way to do it for those with little experience with an FTP/TFTP server. BTW - excellent video Dan! Thanks!

copy startup config went well but the copy of the IOS didn't work at all......"error opening/no such file or directory".....i did paste the image file properly after the source filename......any idea what might have gone wrong?

I am receiving in PT 6.1 a "Non-volatile configuration memory invalid or not present" message. Was there no configuration on this router?

I tried this on the switch instead of router and it worked but there's no system image file. Does this only occur on router?

That is a great question, right now I am looking at Rancid which is open source, runs in linux, and can execute remote scheduled backups of networking devices

I am totally missing something here. You installed SolarWinds tftp server on your real computer, then disabled it. Then you went to your virtual tftp server in Packet Tracer and it allowed you to write to it. I'm missing the connection. Packet Tracer is a virtual environment, that TFTP server doesn't exist. I can't copy my configs to the builtin PacketTracer's server TFTP server. How did you link the virtual PC with your real computer?
