A little respectfully submitted advice, always always remove and check the carbs on a new to you 2 stroke motor, you won't regret it and you can keep from destroying a piston and cylinder. We buy or otherwise obtain these bigger 2 strokes and put them on the water without checking the carbs taking our chances that they are clear and jets are clean enough perhaps and if we run the guts out of it at WOT they will clean themselves up, No, too risky. If a main jet is partially blocked from corrosion because of mostly ethanol fuel use in the past and left in the carbs for months or years, it creates a lean burning condition in the cylinders. A two stroke running lean can run so hot it melts the piston, and ask me how I know and learned that lesson. I have been working on 2 stroke boat motors since the mid 60's and have learned that carbs some first, gear lube change, water pump impeller, and end to end fuel system checks are 99% of any potential issue you may have. Also try and find out what RPM the WOT is for that particular motor and make sure your prop size/pitch will not let you exceed the motors rated WAT rpm. Great channel, great projects, and great filming all around. Keep the great content coming. Respectfully submitted.... Joe
