later today my new friend is bringing me 5 black muscovy ducks, i promised a steak dinner if he delivered them; all our animals are black, we thought our ducks should be too. next up are black jersey giant chickens. good video, thanks for taking the time to produce it.

I love how they took your walking stones for themselves and you have to walk in the mud. I noticed my own flock take all my favorite chairs, walking paths and sitting areas. Just love them.

We have them all over Florida and the females will fly quite high, especially to get away from the male ducks during mating season. I have seen them fly up onto oaks or roofs to get away 😂

having 65 of these on 4k m2 grass and mango threes, but no community it was nice to see we agree, it is so satisfying having them all come running when I show up, some adults even fly across the yard, I spend at least an hour with them sitting in the shade every feeding time and just enjoy their antics, the drake is always there braking up fights, one of my girls is a bit of a bitch, so funny seeing him come running over to mediate the drama 😂.

I have 6 Muscovy ducks, 1 male and 5 females. They are really beautiful , I can't wait for babies..😁😁..The ducks are also for eating too..😁😁😁😁😁😁

My Muscovite’s are all maturing right now, I got them this spring. I got the bigger French meat-type from metzer farms. My ducks can fly extremely well, they can control their flight, they can take off from a single jump, and they can almost hover… now don’t get me wrong, they don’t fly a lot and they have never tried to fly away, but they are very proficient and controlled fliers.

Elissa! I hope you're doing well. Weve chatted in the past on here, but i doubt you'll remember. I have a question regarding the MOLT of primary wing feathers in Muscovy ducks. My hen muscovy is coming up on her third year not molting her primaries. Her body feathers are all molted regularly. She is a healthy and happy girl named Judles, and we love her. It's just her wing feathers have yellowed (she's a white muscovy) and are ratty looking. Do your girls molt annually?

This is so wonderful! We raised one successfully and now I am incubating 17 eggs. His name is Donald, of course. I am so excited! They are so sweet and wonderful to watch. Your videos are helpful and informative. I also love the coloring of yours. Donald is a light brown with that beautiful iridescent green. I wish he had more of that pristine white.

Hi I'm from New Zealand and I only trim the flight feathers on one wing to keep in the yard. Fortunately we don't have foxes, or predatory animals as you have. Stray dogs can be a problem, but if they're in a yard it's fine. The eggs are tops when it comes to baking.

Is she looking after the ducklings that have hatched? I carefully remove the eggs that didn’t hatch. You don’t want them to explode, that’s why I do it carefully.

Recently, a Muscovy duck started hanging around my 2 female Pekins & 1 male Mallard. The last 2 days, she's been in my bird's free range area (it backs up directly into the lake my house is situated on).. do you think the Muscovy is trying to integrate into my ducks' small flock? I also have 9 hens and 2 roosters. I'm worried that the Muscovy belongs to someone else who lives on my lake. Or maybe she's lost? She (he?) flies btw! What should I do for the Muscovy? I have a muscovy who squirted out a yolk and white as if she did a poo, it came out with no shell or membrane just yolk and white. could this be a problem and what could cause this and what could I do to stop it if it keeps happening?

Hi Jacob, is she a new layer? When birds are new to laying sometimes steps are missed in the egg making process and shell-less eggs come out.

I have contemplated making an educational video on this topic for a long time. Like Nathan Knighton said KZbin dose not like that type of content as it can be distressing to some people. I personally think it would be valuable content - done respectfully of course, but I know the distress we get for cutting feathers on a ducks wing so I can imagine the 'love' we would get for a processing video.

a FEW OF MINE FLY AWAY DOWN THE RIVER EVERY NOW AND THEN. I like them to populate the river. They go off to create a colony of their own - and they breed so fast that it is necessary to have some take off on their own now and then, They are such wonderful mothers that they become too much for my garden to take Every muscovy mother of mine produces ten to thirteen babies - regularly! What is stopping me from getting muscovy ducks again is that I have a dog now, who chases and kills wild chickens if they get into the yard. I would be keeping them in my garden, but even if I trimmed one wing, I think they could still climb the fence and get into the yard with killer-canine. So I am stalled for now unfortunately.

One of my dogs would LOVE DUCK or Chook for a chase and a game over chomp. I have 7 foot fences between their living quarters and they are solid corrugated iron, so Dogs can't see through and concrete under so no digging. I trim one wing on each duck annually (You may have seen those videos) so they cant fly into danger. Jett (my dog) is not a climber so he cant jump over the fence either. There are certainly So many things to consider and prepare for if you were to get poultry.
