Thank you Brad for your honesty. You are a straightforward kind of guy. You tell it like it is in all your videos. I also belive a man supporting his family is just if not better a reason for making a video for us to enjoy. Everyone is jumping on the "free mow" band wagon and while it's great to see people helping each other out, their motives are all the same as yours. They want to make $$ while doing so. Your Ventrac in action is always fun to watch! Thanks for another great video.

I think people have honestly forgotten that they can be a good person just to be a good person. Religion/Culture or what ever other beliefs a person may have shouldn't be the reason they do something, or act like they're trying to get brownie points from God for being such a good person. I love the backstory from this person and the non-sense they went through just to get to you. Glad you were in their neck of the woods. This was a pretty good all around Brad kind of video. Just miss your side commentary.

Although I appreciate your reasoning behind not advertising that you’re helping people in need with free mows, I watch many other channels that do mention that they’re transforming yards at no cost, but don’t necessarily boast about it. They mention it, but are also honest about the fact that it’s the views, likes & subscribers that allow them the opportunity to help others while providing for their own families. Most never come across as being sanctimonious about it, nor wanting to be considered a saint for it, but instead seeking to inspire others who may have a similar ability, to help others go out and do so in whatever capacity they can. It’s a win-win for both the people doing the hard work like yourself and the recipient getting the much needed help. You’re providing for your family and helping others. Meanwhile, it can be very inspiring and make for great content for us to enjoy. It’s awesome. Thank you for doing what you do in the manner that is right for you. 😊

That sounds like what I have done in the past. I am just saying when someone brings their Christianity into it ("let's do this to be a blessing", "we are helping these people out because God put them in our path", etc.) that goes directly against what Jesus said. That would imply a Christian who doesn't know what Jesus said or doesn't care, and I don't want to be lumped in with either group, so it is best for me to just drop the 'free' bit altogether to make sure of that.

I enjoy your videos because you don't boast about the free work you do, and you use the videos to support your family. You also do larger fields that are impossible for normal mowers. In other "free mow" videos, it's in residential neighborhoods. And if a homeowner has enough money to afford a house, they have enough money to afford a lawn mower or a lawn service. Some people say they don't have the time, but if they spend a half hour every day on it, it wouldn't be a problem. I think a lot of those people don't take pride in their lawn and will just let it go again.
@peterm89692 жыл бұрын
Owning a home doesn't automatically mean you have spare cash for garden care. Many elderly and/or disabled people may be on a very tight budget and once they have paid for heating, food and other basic needs they lack the money for garden care which they just cant manage physically. Having someone come and help out may be a godsend. And if KZbin income pays for it thats fine.

I really appreciated your intro. While I'm deeply grateful and respectful for anyone who mows (or does anything else) to help others, and I sincerely hope they continue to do so, that is NOT why I watch their channels or yours. Such advertising strikes me as self-serving rather than selfless, which I take as your point. So, please continue to provide great videos, and do them for whatever reasons that suit you or meet your family's or others' needs in the moment. I feel the reasons are none of my business; free or paid, needy or wealthy, just let that be between you and them.

I love thar you appreciate quality equipment and using the right product for the job. This applies to everything. It's the difference between sewing with a $99 machine ...and $1,000 machine. I did it with the former for years. It can be done. But .... when I could, I bought the latter. I can do much better work, in a much more timely manner. I don't have a business ...but when my neighbor wanted new slipcovers for her beat up old couches, I told her if she bought the fabric, I'd do the work for free. I was channeling you. :)

Matthew ch 6 is quite clear that we should do good and not advertise the fact. Equally I think its a creative use of KZbin income to subsidise free lawn care for people who cannot do it for themselves and to encourage viewers to support the channel so as to increase advertising revenue and donations. But it's not a requirement for producing fine lawn care videos! Personally, I just like watching people cutting tall grass - its really relaxing. Brad, yours was the first channel that got me hooked. Keep it up!

Under nice transformations, that place in falling behind had a rapidly building mass of vegetation. The Ventrac became appropriate to deal with a more crisis level of mowing and the intrusion of the forest type vegetation on the edges. It still left you with a lot of trimming, which just came with the size of the property. Nice you re-found a backyard path and made it navigable. You got the place back to doable and safe. Best wishes to your family and theirs.

Mostly I like that you were bold enough to lift up the skirt of charity and give everyone a peek at the hypocrisy underneath. Finally. I’ve been waiting for a video to show what the Ventrac can really do! This yard would have sucked with a zero turn or trimmer mower! For big trimmer jobs like this from a comfort standpoint. Would you say brush cutter is better for long term use? I use Stihl and have their 131R system. Which gets heavy on those cemetery jobs. Works great but they also have the FS line.
