We had one axle slipping on our locomotive which eliminated almost all of our traction to the track when running our train in the backyard. So we had to figure it out, and we did!

Glad it was an easy fix. You know what they say in this hobby, 1 hour on the track equals three in the shop. Part of the fun. Expect more in the shop if you run steam. Lol. Love your little helper. Still would love to have you as a guest some Saturday morning on Back on Track. Steve.

Nicely done. Similar problem here (Doepke handcar) though mine required a machine key.. Take care.

I’m glad you got out! Yeah, super fun! It seams we just had the set screw. So we drilled and set the set screw in deeper 😊🤷‍♂️ So far so good 👍

Nice video, glad you were able to just reset the set screw. Is that the Plum Cove system? It look somewhat like the two systems I have in the Goose. Wayne

Why do you think the set screw failed, was it not going in all the way? and do you still like and have good results from the plum cove running gear? Thank you.

@@followinghim5194 Yeah, not totally sure, but I think the set screw was not set deep enough. But after setting it deeper in a new spot on the axel (because I couldn’t find the existing set hole), we have been back in business, no problem. Are we still happy with Plum Cove? Yeah! We have no reason to steer anyone away from them. 👍

@@minnesotaeerailroad8471 Thank you for your reply and time. your videos and content are Relly done well, they are very helpful for me who is only in the beginning dreaming stages of starting my own 7 1/2' Ga railroad. your videos show clearly how you built the track and your engine. they show a path to getting started in this hobby,

how are you finding that handheld controller? that pressure switch seems like it could be a bit of a pain...maybe I am just too used to a rotating knob :)

We’re having fun so no big deal for now! But knobs are attractive for sure! I just like that it releases for safety with whose hanging out with us etc. But a long day on Train Mountain would probably be a different story 😂😂
