Backyard Trail Park - Two Guys Playing with RC 4x4 Trucks - Vaterra & Traxxas

My buddy Steve came over for a visit today.. him and I go WAYYY back. He re-found me on KZbin and we were able to connect after not seeing each other in 15 years! Too Cool! What better way to hang out then to go out with a couple of RC trucks on to my "backyard scale trail track" and hit up some obstacles!
The two trucks we are using are (His: Vaterra Ascender Chevy K5 Blazer), mine - Traxxas TRX-4 - Tactical Unit! Both of our trucks are fairly close to stock. My TRX4 is 98% stock, with me only adding the blue lights. His, the only upgrades are the Rims and Tire choice. The chevy is running 1.9 RC4WD Mud Slingers, and Aluminum Bead locks that are Integy. Steve hasn't ever had a scale trail truck before.. and I think this Vaterra Ascender is a perfect speed for him to start! he has seen so many RC ADVENTURES, that he knows this truck well.

Awesome to see the two of you having fun with the obstacle course. Steve told me about some of the things that you didn't show. He had such a great time hanging with you and doing the things you both love to do. Have to say I wasn't really interested in rc until Steve showed me the videos now I watch every video you post. So this morning Steve got up charged the battery for the rc and is currently trying to find things to rock climb in the backyard. Lol it is only 9am ... Awesome to see him getting out and having fun. I think he is practicing for the next time he is out with you 😉

Just ordered the 2nd Axial SCX10.2 kit for this household . . Could've gotten the Ascender Blazer, but didnt due to aftermarket support . . Now the wife will have hers, and i will have my own . . Awesome video I enjoy watching just as much as i enjoy crawling my Vaterra. The tires on that Vaterra are really not good for crawling on wood obstacles, its to square and does not conform over convex objects, their good for rock crawling and mud. The factory vaterra tires are way better for wood obstacles. The man has skills for first time pistol grip RC.👍🏼

So much fun to watch! I wish I still had my RC10's but thankfully I still have my Bullhead/Clodbuster. I have some kind of 4WD Traxxas truck that run today that's pretty cool. But it ain't the same. I was a bit embarrassed when I walked into the hobby store looking for a kit only to be told they come fully assembled now. Talk about showing your age!
