@@vp4848 depends on what all you get done and how big the yard is and obviously who your contractor is but if you’re taking everything out and starting from scratch like this and getting a full irrigation system for a small yard like that, you’re looking at around $30,000 Edit: hardscapes are a good way to drive up the price a lot though so it’s probably more.

Cool video, love the name "Shovel and Thumb", but that was a mini-excavation with a couple of mini backhoes and front end loaders. I bet that job cost around 20K! In my humble opinion too many shrubs were planted because as they grow it will get crowded back there. I enjoyed the show, thanks for sharing.

We use ASTM C33 or coarse concrete sand. Based on ICPI's requirements. This project took about a week from start to finish.

Compacted gravel base approx 5 inches thick, and approx an inch of bedding sand. The patio installation was unfortunately missed on this video as our camera wasn't recording. However there are a number of other videos on our channel that show how we install paver patios in detail.

Charles Masclef trust me I just got a house and have doing some work to the backyard. I’m in southeast US. Artificial grass is about $10 per sq ft right now and that is about at a minimum 100 square feet place. So that’s $1000 on the artificial grass. And the entire patio up top is stone paved which would run about 1500 at the very minimum but that seems higher quality so I’d guess more. Landscaping and backyard renovations do not come cheap

So, I did not see any concrete (pours) either for the base of the retaining wall or in the blocks themselves. What is the in the design of the blocks that keeps this wall from eventually failing?

Per ICPI standards, pedestrian paver pathways and patios and small retaining walls (under 4 feet tall) require 5-8 inches of compacted base. In this project we used a 5/8 minus gravel. When the base is the proper thickness and compacted properly it is a much better alternative to concrete pours. The retaining wall in this project was Belgards Tandem Wall. www.belgard.com/products/retaining-walls/ashlar-tandem When installed properly, this highly engineered product is wonderful at retention.
