FL here, our 90s "feel like" 110s. I still find fire pits great options for night time when the sun isn't beating down and of course cooler days during the "winter"/spring. Gas pits will also be more controlled, meaning they don't have to put off much heat either. Gas will also allow you to safely keep in a covered area which keeps it cooler around the day and not have residual heat still radiate from the ground at night. They always make for great conversation pits.

I’m in the beginning stages of buying a home and I’ve always said depending on the size of the backyard I’d design the space in a way that makes my home the place to be 😂 a lot of these ideas I’ve seen are perfection especially the fire pit with seating for those summer nights No pool though I took a CPO class and yeah after what I learned I will not add a pool

I'm wondering about locations of fire features. In a lot of the pictures you show fire pits that seem pretty close to wooden structures and other flammable landscape. What distance between fire pits and other stuff is your rule?

Depends on the size of fire but generally need 10 foot radius around a fire

Use shade adapted plants: ivy, hosta, ferns. If possible, let climbers grow on walls. Don't build it all over and don't cram indoor stuff in it. That's bad in these videos. Best design for such places is like a gorge or ravine with forest (small trees, shrubs, climbers, ground plants are enough).
