I was a studious person growing up, maybe you could say I was on the ‘Nerdy’ side of learning. For my 21st birthday my parents asked me if there was anything special that I wd like. I asked for a Walnut bureau and still have it in good use. I remember how peaceful I felt, studying, writing letters , reading and taking notes at this piece of furniture. I still love and cherish it , it has a soft sheen in gentle lamplight and looks handsome in daytime. Who thought someone could wax lyrical over a lump of walnut? …… Unfortunately they are not in fashion these days, usually sanded down and painted but that’s better than ending up in a dusty garage. So, I am studying my children/grandchildren very carefully to see who will take it in….. before my days are over so that I can enjoy seeing it in its new place.

Still in the game but not climbing much any more. Love your videos!! You requested input for gear testing videos: here’s one - test with your load cells the forces on a 3 to 1 rig (with pulleys) with a Masdaam instead of a fiddle block exerting the pulling force. This is a rig I use regularly to pull large (sometimes back leaning) trees over- and I am concerned about overloading my 1/2” 3strand. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
